The food was decent. The pizza crust was a little soggy and the prime rib was overcooked. The fried cheese balls were the best... part. The bathroom smelled like urine, and the swarming flies by the garbage can scared the heck out of my kid. We'd go back forthe beer and maybe try burgers next time. Hopefully the bathroom will be cleaned by then. Read more

Honestly, the new management and staff are an embarrassment. We made a reservation for 7 and sat at our table for 15 minutes... with no service, no recognition and not even a glimpse in our direction when we all walked out the door. Such a bummer to see aonce amazing restaurant tank over the last few years. Read more

It is a bar atmosphere, some TV'S available to watch sports. There are some great dishes, but most of the menu is average and... average priced. Read more

The service was great, fries under cooked, and chicken sandwich was thinner than Wendy?s.

We went to The Cottage to watch the Bears vs Green Bay game. We ordered the stuffed Jalapenos and they were horrible. We sent... them back. The tables on the outside patio are so old and sticky. Your glass and elbows stick to the table. The sweet potatofries tasted weird too, like they were burnt but they weren't. We didn't finish them. Gluten free pizza was pretty tasteless. Wecame here to watch the game outside on the patio but after asking countless times asking them to turn on the Bears game (whichtook forever) they were unable to turn the sound on. Which is weird considering they are a sports bar. Horrible experience andhorrible food. Waiter was great tho (July) very nice and attentive. Read more

Have patronized The Cottage many times; lunch/dinner. Food and service normally good to very good. Unfortunately when we visited... Friday night, it was sub par at best (food and service). Yes it was busy, outside dining packed but seemed like there was noplan. Our server (NB) seemed to be all over rather than a specific area. Pleasant enough, but took awhile to get drinks. Waitedfor appetizer which would have been better if it wasn't served just before meal. Again, waited for drinks. Meal was ok, had fishfry- Cod, which was mostly heavy breading. Wife had perch, but never received butter/sour cream for baked potato. Perch wasbetter than Cod though. Server apologized, saying kitchen was swamped, but no excuse. This was a Friday, happens every week.Saw plenty of waitstaff so that should not be an issue. Service could be better, and has been. Read more

It's been a very long time since I was last here, and it's safe to say that The Cottage has aged like fine wine. They just keep... getting better. I had hands down the best Reuben I've ever had in the Chicago area, and the service was beyond awesome. Superfriendly and extremely accommodating. We needed to stop for food after a softball game, forgot we had the dog, and they werenice enough to let us sit outside with her and dine here. This is the best experience I've had at a restaurant in years. Thankyou so much, Cottage. Read more

The service was amazing but the food was even better. Everything we order was delicious. And we ordered a variety of things.... Everything from CURDS to SHEPHERD PIE. It wasn't just bar food, it was comfort food. I would definitely go back and orderanything! Maybe my favorite part was free nuts and popcorn to start on the table... YUM Read more
