Tonight our family stopped in for dinner, my husband got the brisket dinner w/ okra and queso fries. I got the pork stake w/same... sides. Our kids got off of the kids menu. I was eating the fries and, I found a hair, instead of making it a big deal? I juststopped eating them and moved on. However, when we went to leave my husband was going to box up his to bring it home and, founda hair in his fries as well. So my husband brought it to the server?s attention. the guy standing behind the bar drinking hisbeer was making gestures that suggested ?we? had put the hair on the plate! The female manager came over asking if we wantedthem to remake the order? To find out that we had already paid the tab along with leaving the server a generous tip. And we werenot wanting them to remake anything we just wanted them to know about the hair!!! that was found in the food we had just ate!Annoyed, I got up and walked out. This was poorly handled! and the gentleman behind the bar if he is the owner should have cameto the table to find out the whole situation, instead of suggesting that we wanted a hand out!!! Stopped in for a bit of brisket on the way back north. Easy to find, clean parking lot and clean dining hall. Was promptly... greeted by the hostess and they were happy to give me a menu for a Togo order. I chose the brisket sandwich and was notdisappointed but not blown out of the water. ( Texan here whose family owned a BBQ place in Texas, and I went to HS with AaronFranklin, owner of Franklin Bbq in Austin. Grew up eating the best of the best) so do not take this as a slight, nor the fourstars. For BBQ, if I give five stars it is something special. The brisket was ok. The bark half formed. No smoke ring at allwas found. The brisket was cut at an angle not cohesive to the meat as a whole and was too thick for my taste. Just threebiggish cuts thrown on a bun. The flavor was ok, yet could tell that lower quality spices were used. Not bad, at all. Thoushall not hear me curse the name of BBQ, yet many small improvements could be made. Not sure if left or right flank brisket wasused. The meat quality was fine but could probably be improved by a longer cook time at a lower temperature. Could not tasteany specialty woods used in the firing process. It was just BBQ. The bun was fresh and soft and held together well. Top knotchin that direction. The sauce, I received was ample and not serviced on the sandwich to cover the flavor or quality of the meatas some places do. Bravo for that! I digress, I procured the spice sauce and it was OKish ,and Maybe a bit lack luster, bitstill good. A lot of places just order a five gallon bucket of cattleman's from a restaurant supply company and might add alittle something to it to make it more their own. I suspect this maybe the case. The okra I order was good, not great , butgood. The quality was there, the breading was good and the ample amount was very satisfying. ( I ordered double okra as my twosides. I am confused. Is there a new owner? 45 min wait for my dinner not so bad.. rude waitress.. not leaving a tip.. cold brisket... over cooked potatoes and o I ly over cooked okera as if it had been cooked and put back in the oil to be warmed. The onion rigsflaked apart before they made it to my mouth. Guess this will be my last visit here.. to bad................. AMAZING FOOD!! Every aspect of the restaurant is rite on. All the way down to the music and decor. I oredered the brisket sand. With fried okraand potatoes with onion and a side of onion rings every bit was better than the last. Husband got the you pick three and lovedevery meat cooked to perfection. And the portion was great had to take what was left home for great snacking. Read more

We had to wait a long time for our food. Tables that were seated after us got food before us. When I finally asked, the... waitress said it was because we had fried things and that takes longer... but the table that was served before is had lots offried things. Regardless, our food was brought out immediately after ( and wasn't hot)... but it was good food. I got thehamburger and thought it was very good. My daughters got pulled pork and grilled chicken and thought they were very good. Myhusband got pork steak and didn't like it, but he was the only one who gave a negative review. Read more

Amazing! In town for a class and tried it out. I had the pork steak, almost asked for a knife then realized it is fork tender.... The loaded fries were great and huge portion. Coworker had the burger and said was great and was huge. The other had the threemeat nachos. Was enough for 2-3 people and loaded down. All three of us were saying how good it was the rest of the day. Weall said we would be worth the 45 minute drive to come back again! Read more

We have been on the hunt for a authentic BBQ smokehouse for some time now. The hunt is over! The food here us incredible! The... portion sizes are huge, the food is cooked to perfection and the amount of choices is awesome. Not to mention the prices areincredibly affordable and comparable to other places. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, onion rings, ribs with deep friedcorn on the cob, ribs with beans & baked potato, a loaded baked potato with brisket queso green onions and cheese. To finish itoff we shared coconut cream pie and apple pie cheesecake. If you have not tried Kettlehut Smokehouse I highly recommend addingit to you must try list! Read more

I must admit this was the Best service with such Great food that gave me such a cozy comfort food vibe that reminded me of my... Grandmothets home cooking from days gone by. Smoked MEATS that are not over seasoned nor even needing a sauce on them which youadd yourself.They are very generous with serving portions and they even gave us a complimentary piece of home-baked Almond Joypie you will not be disappointed when visiting here we stumbled upon it while driving an hour to look for Ceremamic tiles andgoogled places to eat that had great reviews and found this delicious restraunt that will not disappoint you with its menu orits Flavors.. our new place to frequent now on weekends. You must try it the Food is made fresh right there and cooked to servefrom kitchen to table. I had the pulled pork with slaw and grilled peppers and onions with a side of baked beans and potatosalad while my husband had a half pound burger with home fried crispy potatoes and onions with a red vinaigrette cucumber andonion dish. Delicious fried green tomatoes, tantalizing dry rub chicken wings cooked to perfection. Scrumptious plate overflowing with full... rack of ribs ....ummm Omg overly delicious!!!!! Bacon burger absolutley delectable!! And service was top notch friendly &courteous. I remember about 5 years ago when this place first opened up. I had a coworker who told me this place was not good atall so I did not try it... HE WAS WRONG ,DEAD WRONG!!!! SOOOOOOO yaaaaa I'm telling you this place is fantastic!!!
