Reviews for The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in Crown Point, IN
I ordered a chicken pita and a bowl of soup to go. I waited for 35 solid minutes for my order. Until the 25 minute mark when I... asked how much longer, no one ever mentioned how backed up they were or let me know there would be a wait. The cashier told meabout all the other orders in front of me and said I'll be waiting even longer for my pita. My soup sat the whole time on thecounter, getting cold. There were many people coming in with pick up orders who also stood around and waited. I received anapology from the cashier. I needed to ask for silverware as none were provided. My chicken was burned and so was the pita forthe soup. I don't mind waiting for great food if I'm informed about it before I order, but 35 min is too long to wait for burntfood. My time was not respected. Perhaps if they do this kind of volume in take out orders, they should hire an extra cook andbecome a pick up only restaurant. Shame, because there's nothing like this around. Read more
Pretty good. Service was good, shrimp was well cooked. Rice pilaf was flavorful, baklava was good. Pita was probably the best... I've had. Read more
Great taste of Greece in Crown Point. Service at the counter was friendly and explained the menu since it was my first time.... Went with the mixed Souvlaki and the recommendation of the feta fries (OMG). Light salad with fresh greens and sprinkled withfeta was great. The chicken and steak was tender, moist and marinated full of flavor. Those Feta fries may get put on acontrolled substance list because they are addicting. My first time here but definitely not my last. Highly recommend! Read more
Perfect little Greek joint. Plenty of Greek options. I went with the gyro for the first try. Tasty. I'd like a little more... tzatziki sauce, but still tasty. The fries are excellent and the service was really good for having just opened. Read more
So? we WANTED to love this place. We really did. The good? - The runner girl was so polite and courteous and was really doing a... great job in keeping the customers happy and the tables clean! - The salad is soooo good! The dressing is homemade anddelicious! Honestly, the salad is the best thing they have going for them. - The flavor/spices in the Gyro meat was good! - Fetafries were good! The bad? - VERY SMALL PORTIONS! For the amount of money you pay, you?d expect a bit more meat and food. - Thefilling inside of the spanakopita was minimal-absent. The flavor was good? but you couldn?t enjoy it as the breading overpoweredthe filling. - The dolmades were lacking flavor, almost tasted like they were out of a can. They were wrapped nice and tightbut for $9, you?d expect a little bit more for your money. Overall- decent place and I hope they continue to make changes tocontinue to improve. Read more

I was so excited to try out new place in town; that lasted until I got home. Spent $60 on 3 plates, extra pita, & sauce. I got... home and this is what I had. Okay, where is the meat??? Where is the sauce?? This is not a plate. This isn?t enough meat to evenmake a gyros sandwich and missing all 3 side salads. So disappointed. Never again. That was a waste of $60 and 20 minute wait.Stick to your regular gyros place, save yourself from the disappointment. Read more
This restaurant will definitely be a part of our rotation. We both ordered the chicken skewer plates and they did not... disappoint. The chicken was tender and perfectly marinated. The rice was flavorful and I really appreciated the quality of theside salad that came with the meal. The plate also included tzatziki sauce and warm pitas- It was a lot of food. Thankful tohave this fresh, whole food restaurant nearby! Read more
