Went to give them another try. Air conditioning was not working. Saw spaghetti was on the buffet, got a plate, couple of of... spoonfuls. Looked, tasted like it was left over from lunch or a previous day. When I went to check out, I was charged as if Ihad the full buffet. My 3rd and final time! Just stopped here for to-go breakfast as we were traveling home from an Outer Banks trip. Best decision ever! It was a great... home-cooked meal with very friendly staff & reasonable prices. I had 2 eggs over-medium, bacon & cheese grits. My husband had abacon, egg & cheese sandwich and a hashbrown. Sweet tea was of course homemade & just right. Everything was cooked perfectly! Service was not bad, our waitress was nice and helped us out with the menu. Advice for the owners is to get rid of the buffet.... Focus on the menu and making items fresh to order. They buffet seemed to be a waste of time and money for the restaurant. Iordered the BBQ chicken meal with beans and mashed potatoes. The sides were both picked and prepped out of the buffet food. Thechicken was precooked and heated in the microwave to mouth burning temperatures. Then sauced and plated with the sides. Nothingwas fresh or made to order. Gloves were not used, and ready to be ate food and utensils touched with bare hands. Staff needsfood safety training or someone will get sick. Also sandals in the kitchen are unsafe. Read more
