In its hayday the Pink Poodle was probably the place to go, but I'm not impressed. The food is ok tasting, but overpriced for... what you get. Don't order the potato soup if you are thinking thick & creamy. It was skim milk with big chunks of vegetables. And pass on the onion rings...I think we paid about a $1 a ring for the 5 or 6 we got. Plus who needs that long drive fornothing special. Read more

It was as I remembered it. We haven't been back in the area for 30 years and wanted some good prime rib. Still delicious! Bread... wasn't as good and the potato soup and beef and barley needed some tweaking. One other thing. The marina sauce for the friedravioli appetizer was ice cold from the refrigerator. It should be warmed. Thank you for the nice staff and some good memories. Read more

My family lives in the Omaha area and they brought us to Pink Poodle. It?s now a go to when we are visiting. I?m sad that it... isn?t open more days during the week (we are visiting next week but won?t be there on the days it is open). It?s sad to see howhard Covid and supply issues have hurt this restaurant. But it still has fantastic prime rib. Read more

I have been coming here since they first opened. The prime rib is always good and tender. The bread and soup are wonderful also... and the service is always top notch. I always refer friends or family to this Restaurant in Crescent, IA. Read more

**This review is based on my visit in August 2016. Cons - Service was so slow. Waited for almost half an hour just for the soup... and salad before main course dishes were served. - Interior decor is outdated. - We felt that we were being discriminated byskin color and/or religion. The older lady who seated us appeared to be racist or against the Catholic religion (my brother wasdressed in a cassock) as she wanted to seat the couple behind us first, even though we arrived first (which didn't make anysense to me at all and the behavior appeared to be obvious). Pros - Aside from the negative experience and an unpleasantwelcome from the lady who seated us, our waiter was nice. - The Club and New York steaks that we had were delicious and moist. They were perfectly cooked. - It was nice that they left all the salad dressing available on the table (about 6 to choose from),so we could use as much as we liked. Overall, I would definitely not mind the drive out to Pink Poodle had they provide bettercustomer service. Because of this horrible experience, I will never return to this place. We were never welcomed to be hereanyways. And this restaurant had given us bad impressions about the state of Iowa. _______ Response to the owner: Yes, thisreview is based on my experience from 2016. I did put in a Yelp review back then but want to make certain that this getsreviewed on Google so that others are aware when they look at reviews when choosing restaurants. FYI, I am not the type ofperson who plays the race/religion card, but no one else should be experiencing what we have experienced in the past. Thatbehavior is unacceptable. And you choose to avoid addressing this issue by pretending to ask me if this review was based on myexperience in 2016. Read more

This is the definition of a diamond in the rough. The prime rib was spectacular, some of the best I have ever had. Actually,... everything tasted amazing from the soup and bread to the fries and mozzarella sticks to the prime rib. Wish I had had enoughroom for dessert. The outside shows a little rundown, and inside is dated, but I like the variety of antiques, and who careswhen the food is 100%. The server was very helpful, and everyone was so kind and welcoming despite the fact that we came in oneto closing. Read more

This was my first visit to the Pink Poodle in crescent Iowa in 20+ years. I brought my friend who is from Russia. She ordered a... steak and I ordered the prime rib. She said the very rustic and outdated decor reminded her of places in Russia. The food wasgood and the service was very good. This is definitely a place for prime rib. The steak was a good cut of meat but they justseemed to fry it in butter and not much else and made a great steak into just average. Go there for their delicious prime rib.Did I say that already? The prices are a bit higher than I would expect but definitely much less expensive than a similar mealin Omaha or council bluffs. I would recommend this place to just about anyone who loves prime rib. Read more
