Stay away. Our food was not good or appetizing at all. The meat was old and had a rubber texture. The chips and salsa are extra.... Not even good. Service was terrible. Will have to get up and order your own food. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Read more

The birria tacos and the corn in the cup are great! The prices are really way to high and if you get a drink expect to pay over... $20 for lunch. No refills you have to purchase bottles. They have one bottle of each red and green salsa that just gets passedaround depending on who asks for it and they will come and snatch it from your table to take it elsewhere. Worth the try for thebirria tacos but other than that it?s to pricey Read more

I have been meaning to try this place for quite a while... sorry I waited so long to actually get here. I ordered the Birria... taco combo with the broth dip. OMG... such an incredible explosion of flavor! The spiced meat really put this lunch experienceover the top. I look forward to returning... and will likely order the exact same meal! Read more

Authentic Mexican food right in downtown Covington. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We also had a chance to speak... with the owners who told us that they make monthly trips back to Mexico for their herbs and spices. Nice, family run, and alegitimate business with all of the proper permits for St Tammany parish. They will also be serving from their newly opened Tacotruck on hwy 22 in Mandeville. If you want Authentic Mexican food this is worth a stop. Read more

Ate here for lunch on a Saturday. We had the Don Taco (steak), shrimp, and lengua (beef tongue) tacos along with a Mexican... pizza. All were delicious!. The shrimp tacos were the clear winner with the lengua a close second. The Mexican pizza had apupusa base covered with smashed black beans and topped with chicken(or whatever meat you choose), Cilantro and onions. Thehomemade green and red sauces were also tasty. We'll be back! Read more

This is the REAL DEAL!! These are super authentic tacos and Mexican soups. And super delicious. The service is excellent, I love... that it is a small place run by a local family. So far everything I've had was incredibly fresh and tasty. The last time I hadanything that approached the flavor profiles they achieve was in Mexico.I highly recommend you give Don Taco a try. Oh, did Imention it's a fantastic value? You can eat like a king for under $10. Read more
