Reviews for Black Bear Diner Cottonwood in Cottonwood, AZ
My family and myself absolutely adored this place. Firstly, the whole theme and atmosphere is really pleasant. We visited late... in the evening on Friday and we were seated immediately. The menu is in the form of a newspaper which was a fun twist. Mybiggest problem was deciding what to eat since there are so many options. I settled on the homemade meatloaf and it was quitegood. At first the plate seemed rather small, but actually it was all very filling and I was left perfectly full. What Iappreciated most though, is that it was my son's birthday. There weren't any sweets for birthdays, but our waitress said wecould pick something from the window. It turns out, that she took money out of her own pocket to buy the brownie, and also wentout of her way to put whipped cream and a cherry on top (since they didn't have any candles). I was floored. If she is anyrepresentation of the people who work there, then this restaurant is truly a fantastic place to enjoy a great meal with family. Read more
Good food, seated right away not too busy. Large portions, great food and service.
They missed the cranberry sauce with this dish. I had to argue about cornbread coming with the salad. Every time I get food here... they forget something and then argue about it. Disappointing service and food. 5/27/2022 I received moldy bread pudding. I?mdone. Never never never again. Read more
The blackbear diner has a reputation for large portions and they were indeed wonderful and large. My teenagers were so full they... could not finish their plates. Silly kids were worried they would still be hungry after eating here because it was not an allyou can eat buffet. We loved trying a new flavor in their huckleberry pie and huckleberry Icecream and huckleberry milkshake. There are black bear souvenirs for purchase up front. Deserts are limited so choose it from the display case up frontrather than the menu Read more

Some days nothing goes right..... Went to the Black Bear Diner in Cottonwood this evening. The waiter said he was new and to... please Bear with him as he was learning. He was very nice and tried hard. I ordered their featured Huckleberry lemonade. Theywere out of huckleberries. Got an iced tea, with lemon, and Charles got a beer. We both ordered Fish and Chips. A while laterthe waiter came back and said he was sorry but they were out of fish. We got the menu back and reconsidered... I ordered aPatty Melt and Charles ordered Chicken Fried Steak with Brown gravy and a side of Onion Rings. A while later the waiter cameback and asked how I wanted mine cooked, I said Medium Well... A while later the waiter came back and said they were out ofSwiss cheese, could they substitute. I said fine and opted for Cheddar... Our meals arrived. My Patty Melt was Medium- on theedges - but closer to rare in the center. Charles meal had white (cream) gravy not brown and the fries were floating in it. Whenhe pointed it out to the waiter there was no offer to replace/fix and Charles is not the type to ask for a replacement meal. TheOnion Rings were slightly under cooked and the featured, Homemade, Ranch Dressing was no where to be seen. They were probablyout of it. It is too bad the place is cute, the service slow but friendly. Maybe, someday, we might try a breakfast there - butit took us 2 years to get there the first time so.... To be honest, the only thing that really bothered me was the fly. Read more
This is a perfect breakfast restaurant and I usually do not make that kind of statement. The food was wonderful and perfectly... prepared. My waitress was the a pitta me of awesome and efficiency. My coffee cup was never allowed to get even halfway emptyeven though the establishment was busy as was she. It is a very clean and very organized restaurant. The black bear decor iscute. Very comfortable booths and lots of big tables for big families. The parking lot is very big and has a lot of lighting forthose who die in here after dark. Read more
First time coming to this Black Bear Diner and it was delicious! The cubs (kids) portion of the menu had a bunch of different... options. We tried the chicken strips with french fries, Cub Cake (pancake) and the Papa Bear?s pizza, with fresh fruit. We alsotried the California Eggs Benedict, that came with an English muffin, avocado, tomato, thick cut bacon and creamy hollandaisesauce. This was absolutely fabulous! The turkey club sandwich, with sweet potato fries, was also delicious and a great portionsize! Read more
