Came here because of the high ratings but was extremely disappointed. The nigiri and sashimi clearly aren't fresh and the... japchae tasted like nothing and was dripping with oil. The cooked salmon was absurdly dry and flavorless. Only thing that tasteddecent was the baked mussel, but even that was only okay. Walls were peeling and there were dirty used napkins squeezed betweenthe seat and wall left behind by other customers so it seems like there's no attention to cleaning either. The service was justabout the only decent thing here. You'd have a much better eating experience at any of the other nearby sushi restaurants. Read more

Consistently good experience and quality food every time I go, and pricing isn't horrible surprisingly enough for Newport. Their... sushi burrito is definitely must-try. Read more

The sushi is very good, bit the place always strikes me as dirty - it makes me want to do takeout. Staff are a mixed blend of... very helpful and teeth pulling to get service. For such a small place it should not take a lot to keep it clean and orderly, but that is not the case here. However, if you can overlook these faults, the food and fish are excellent. Read more

Just wow, some of the best sushi in Orange County! We start with cucumber salad which was fresh, crunchy, and just the right... amount of pickling. And the rolls we ordered were so good, super fresh and well prepared. Read more

The service and seating options are great; location is nice too with clean restrooms. Servers are very helpful and attentive... which is a huge plus! However, the appetizers tasted better than the sushi itself. I felt like the quality of the fish was notgood; the tuna wasn?t fresh and the texture was off putting. The sushi rice was too loose and made eating it more difficult. Thepricing seemed decent for the area and their lunch sets seem like a good deal, but I can?t say I highly recommend it. Theirnon-fish items were much tastier. Read more

The sushi hero is actually surprisingly good. The salmon was super flavorful and was actually very fatty. We got takeout so it... was nice that when we showed up our order was ready to go. The inside looked a little small for seating but it also look cozy atthe same time. Food was excellent. The rolls were delicious and will be back again to sample some morefood Read more

Been to Sushi District twice now and both times I leave feeling not only satisfied with the food, but even better about the... quality of service. You truly feel at home at Sushi District and that is down to the amazing staff. The Sushi is very fresh andyou can really tell that quality is extremely important here. I've gotten the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna Roll, Regular Spicy TunaRoll, Eel Roll, and Tempura Spicy Tuna Roll and all have been fantastic. Can't wait to continue coming back for more in thefuture!
