Went to Mah Jongs right before we headed to catch a show and have to say the food was delicious. Our server Cameron did an... excellent job bartending and serving and is really good at her craft. Had the Loco Moco and the food did not disappoint. Willdefinitely be back. Read more

This little restaurant is tucked away in the basement of The College, located next to Bloomingdales. I went here specifically... after reading the chef made an oxtail loco moco that was a transformative experience for one eater, and I had to discover it formyself. He wasn't wrong. It is an amazing dish. Unctuous, flavorful and meaty and served atop a waygu patty with a perfectlycooked egg on top. It was served with shishito peppers that you honestly didn't need, although they did offer a texturaldifference and an offset from the richness of the dish. The cocktails made me want to take up day drinking. The fish tacoswere amazingly light and fresh, and the chicken and vegetable samosas left us wanting more. The best ending of the meal werethe cheesecake beignets, which was the original recipe from Scott's. Hands-down a spectacular meal I'd eat again. Read more

Nice casual bar and dining place in South Coast Plaza. Food is more like fine dining and menu changes often but there are... regular favorites that often cycle in and out. The clam chowder poutine is one of them, lots of clams. Burger is great as wellas the steaks and anything seafood. Occasionally they have their ox tail gravy which can go one their loco Moco or theirpoutines. Certain days during the week they have Omakase (chef's choice) menus available, which I've tried twice, greateverytime. Favorite dessert there is their cream cheese filled beignets. Staff are friendly and helpful. Friday nights there'susually a DJ spinning up tunes and guest often dance in the halls. Located in the new Collage Food corner downstairs fromParadise Dynasty. If you're lucky, you might get to hang out with Chef Mike Read more

WOW! Hands down the very best Wagyu burger I have ever had. Each bite melted in my mouth, perfectly seasoned and cooked to... order. (Med Rare) The fresh potato wedges were not greasy, lightly seasoned and complimented the burger perfectly. Even theketchup tasted amazing. And what a desert.... the Beignets were absolutely delicious! Chef Mike came out to check on my dinner, very cool guy. Will be back for sure! Read more

If you are looking for a fresh take on some old school classic dishes you found the right place! Chef Mike brings some of my... most favorite dishes and makes THEM BETTER! If you are planning to have a party of more that 4 people I suggest makingreservations, Mah Jong's is a very intimate restaurant and the decor is absolutely stunning. They have a full bar and if youneed to sober up or just want some coffee to go with your dessert they offer coffee, espresso, lattes etc. Definitely perfectdate night spot to take your honey ! They also have fantastic staff everyone is very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable aboutthe menu! The beauty of coming with a party is getting to try so many dishes which all was enjoyed by my belly! We had theoysters on a half shell, clam chowder poutine, hoisin baby back ribs, calamari crudo with ahi, togarashi scallops, and primeribeye block. All so very yummy and cooked to perfection! Nothing was over done and you can definitely tell they use freshingredients. Also just a friendly tip there is an elevator to get to it not just the stairs ???? Read more

Mah Johgs was such a culinary experience and I can't wait to come here again! My boyfriend and I stopped by here for a... celebration and we're so happy we did. Chef Mike's warm personality compliments his food and truly completed the whole diningexperience. Not to mention the eccentric decorations somehow made us feel like royalty while feeling right at home. Took usright back to home cooked meals by sharing most foods family style which we really appreciated Chef Mikes Omakaserecommendations seriously blew us away. We let him know what foods we liked/ didn't and he brought out perfect dishes for ourparty. Clam chowder poutine: what a delectable take on a classic dish. Giant seasoned potato wedges, fried to perfectionsmothered with a rich "clam chowder" gravy loaded with clams bits and topped off with even more clams and green onions.Probably my favorite dish we tasted and I don't even like clams! Mah Jong's Burger: a mouth watering burger with a deliciousaioli and juicy wagyu beef that was cooked to perfection. We asked for medium rare and actually GOT medium rare. Chef Mikementioned something about the bun's being different but the baguette that he served us the burger on was toasted and tastedamazing! Served with those amazing potatoes wedges from the poutine Hoisin Baby Back Ribs: a fall off the bone - rib with atangy punchy sauce. We had to fight over these because one person ate half the dish! Topped with some green onions, these wereso tasty we got two dishes! (also why some are missing in the picture) Calamari Crudo: fresh from the ocean calamari, seasonedbeautifully and made me feel like I was at the beach! I unfortunately don't drink but the bartender really seemed to know herway around drinks and gave great recommendations to everyone (I know because everyone ordered at least 3 drinks of the ones sherecommended) and I don't know the name of the dessert, but the fried cheesecake bites with caramel sauce- they need to bottlethat sauce Read more
