This place defines "Shabu" for me... Why? 1. Ponzu - the most balanced I've tasted 2. Beef - Always high quality, Prime &... Kobe-ish always available! 3. Fresh Vegetables - Many choices 4. Great Service 5. Fun & Friendly Staff 6. They store mypersonal favorite hot sauces 7. Consistently Great Quality 8. Clean & Happy & Fun Atmosphere! I have been to Shabu all overand nowhere has equaled California Shabu Shabu's seemingly simple combination of features. From super expensive KobeChateaubriand in Tokyo, to the Presidents place by the embassy, to all you can eat in Kanazawa, to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai,Beijing, Singapore, Bruges, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, NYC, and yes even in Fiji I have had good and even great Shabu,but I am never more fully satisfied than here at CA Shabu Shabu! I'm hesitant to leave a review. I don't want this place blowing up so much I can't get a table. This might be the best shabu... place in southern California. An unassuming little place tucked away in a hip little strip mall. The prime rib is melt in yourmouth, buttery. Pork belly, same story. The muscles were fresh. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was energetic. Theyhave an amazing menu, Scotch selection and a good amount of beers to choose from. I'm picky as hell and the food was better thanexpected. Felt like home eating here, service was amazing! The owner helped us since we were first time comers, and walked us through all... the sauces, and process, and provided recommendations on how to best enjoy our meal. Food was delicious as well. Didn?t expectto walk out of here full, but man I got a major food coma after eating (rice is AYCE btw). Ordering requires each person toorder their own meat plate, since everyone gets there own pot and veggies/noodles. We tried both the choice and prime beef; bothoptions were high quality and well worth it, I?d recommend it! PS the owner is one bangah from Hawaii ???????? Read more
Best Shabu around hands down. Chill vibes and great staff. The food and service is top notch.
