Reviews for Zitz Sum in Coral Gables, FL
Let me just start off this review by saying my boyfriend and I went here one night while on a weekend trip in Miami, and we both... agreed this was one of the best meals we\'ve ever had!\n\nAs stated in other reviews, the best way to go is order several dishesoff the menu and share. We ordered the beef tartare, potstickers, bao, wontons, and grouper. We had contemplated getting thecrab noodles but decided against it because I don\'t typically love spicy food. They could tell my boyfriend was disappointed bythis so they brought it out complimentary for us to try anyways - what a nice touch!! To say everything was EXCELLENT is anunderstatement! Everything was seasoned perfectly. I want to eat that bao every day for the rest of my life!\n\nThen for dessertwe ordered the french toast - which was again, amazing! One of the best desserts I\'ve ever gotten from a restaurant. So manywonderful textures and flavors all around, no wonder they have received the Michelin Star Bib Gourmand Award!!\n\nEven thedrinks are noteworthy - all of their cocktails are made with sake which is so unique! I had the Red Moon and it wasdelicious!\n\nOur service was also excellent, and the dishes were timed out perfectly. We never felt rushed, and also never feltlike we were waiting a long time for our food. The server was attentive but also didn\'t hover.\n\nLiterally everything fromfood to service was perfect. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. We will DEFINITELY be back! Read more
Absolutely outstanding! The service by Maynor was absolutely incredible, please ask for him when you come. The wagyu tartare... appetizer was unbelievable, it was extremely buttery and bursting with flavor. The caviar on top was coup de grâce. For theentrees, the grouper stood out among the rest. Hands down the best fish I’ve had in my life. The Yakisoba was bursting withflavor and I highly recommend getting the extra spices to elevate it a little more. To top it off the Hong Kong style FrenchToast, was overflowing with the perfect contrast of flavors (Do not share, you will regret it). Overall one of the best diningexperiences I’ve ever had. We went on a Friday night without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar (my preferred spot). This is... definitely a place you want to make a reservation for if you are going with more than a party of 2 people. The staff is veryfriendly and knowledgeable. I really liked how they all knew each menu item and created a story around the food. They havecocktails and a great sake selection available.\n\nNow onto the food, it is a menu that changes daily so do not go 100% by whatyou are seeing on the website. We went to grab some quick bites before meeting friends and tried the following:\n- Wahoo Crudo($18)- An experience and quite frankly the star of the night - the ajo blanco was perfect. Coupled with the very tender wahooand the pickled grapes left me wanting more.\n- Sheng jian bao ($13)- Underwhelming (especially after the wahoo) - overall waslacking flavor. The brisket was a bit dry and could\'ve been enhanced with the guava hoisin in the bao vs on the side. The realstar of this plate was the side pickles surprisingly.\n- Roasted grouper ($38) - Bland and disappointing - It is served on topof a mushroom and summer squash, coconut bisque with flavors so subtle they barely come through. The grouper was well cooked butagain no flavors that stood out. I wish there was some toast given to mop up the delicate flavors of the bisque. For the price,I definitely expected more.\n\nOverall, I was excited to visit this place after hearing so much about it, and am sad to say Iwas underwhelmed. I was going to give it 2 stars, but decided on 3 because the service and wahoo crudo definitely deserved 5stars. While I\'d be open to giving it another try, I will not be running back. Read more

I\'ve been to Miami three times in the past year. The first thing I do after booking my flight and hotel is to book a... reservation here. It feels like home whenever I go into his restaurant. Chef Pablo treats everyone like his family. You can tellhis staff loves working here and is so passionate about what they\'re doing.\n\nNow to the food. This is my favorite restaurantin Miami. The flavors you try here are like nothing that you could have never imagined. The Tuna appetizer is one of the bestdishes I\'ve ever tried. You may think the combination of tuna with Parmesan may not work but it is FANTASTIC. You can\'t gowrong with any of the dim sum items on the menu. You can tell Chef Pablo, Chef Guido and his team put so much love into everysingle dumpling. All of the food is served family style so you\'re able to have a taste of everything without feeling likeyou\'re overeating. Don\'t forget about the rice and noodle dishes. The Japanese style rice is a new dish and tastes sofantastic and is so special.\n\nSave room for desert, the sweets are so delicious and have the same amazing flavors as the maindish. The Hong Kong French Toast is SO GOOD. What a delicious treat.\n\nAgain, I can\'t overstate how fantastic this restaurantis and how amazing Chef Pablo and the entire staff are. Everyone is so nice and it feels like home. This is a MUST for anyoneheading to Miami!!! Read more
Food is delicious, plates are tapas, smalls but very original and tasty, great presentation, excellent service, friendly staff.... My favorite meal was the tuna with Parmesan. I wish they have more dessert options beside peanut butter and bananas, I’m surethey are delicious but I’m allergic to bananas.\n\nMy only complain it is that was really hard to find the place, is locatedinside a building, there’s no enough signs to follow. Even I was read it other reviews about it, we were in a rush trying toget in. You have to go inside the lobby of the building (which is not in Alhambra, but in the other back street) enter to thelobby and pass another exit back door, and then you will find it. It was worthy, though .\n\nMusic was good, great songs, but donot match with the place in my opinion, and it was really loud for my taste. Read more
One of my favorite spots in town. Fantastic food and ambience. This restaurant features amazing dishes (and desserts) unlike... anything you can find anywhere else. The bar has a nice selection of cocktails, sake, wine, and beer. The outdoor patio area isnice and refreshing offering a different, less formal kind of experience. Highly recommended! Read more
Excellent place to celebrate a special occasion. It was my birthday the day that we went to this restaurant, and I received a... birthday present from the restaurant. Two drinks, courtesy of Zitz Zum! It was so nice! We order as an appetizer the BING whichis a SOURDOUGH PANCAKE with honey miso butter and furikake. It was delicious! As a second course I ordered the ramen soup whichis the specialty of Thursdays, and it was delicious also. On the other hand, my husband ordered the MISHIMA RESERVE WAGYU BEEF.It was delicious also. We really enjoyed our dinner! We will return soon to try other dishes. Read more
