My bf and I went to Cookeville for our birthdays trip, and thought this place would be nice for dinner. We waited for at least... 1.5h for our food, on a monday night, with only few tables - not crowded. Steak came out okay, with spaghetti came out 10minutes later which the lady (we guessed manager) rushing out taking that away because it was a wrong dish and came back inanother 10 minutes for different noddle dish. It was the worst noodle dish i ever got - the noddle strains were all broken intosmall pieces. We couldnt believe they would bring this dish out because it doesnt seem like it would be made in a restaurant. Irarely give negative review about places, but this place ruined out date night. Passing through town on a road trip with my daughter, stopped here for dinner on a locals recommendation. Glad we did! Excellent... mahi mahi and shrimp skewers. Daughter said the chicken tenders were ?spot on?. Great service, great atmosphere, great food.Will stop in again next time we?re in town. Read more
I went to dinner with a couple of friends at Char and had a wonderful time. One friend ordered the fried mushrooms for an... appetizer, and I tried one; they were good. I ordered the Cheese Roulette, an assortment of fried cheese sticks. The cheesecurds had a little bit of heat, but not too much, the mozzarella sticks were classic, and the provolone were good too. Onefriend got the beef filet and loaded baked potato. I had one bite of the filet and it was AMAZING! My other friend ordered theshrimp scampi. She said it was really good as well. Our waiter was fabulous from beginning to end. He was super attentivewithout being overbearing. He kept the drinks coming, gave us menu suggestions and was just all-around a super waiter!
