I wanted to support this place after i saw it on fox 5 BUT after stopping by for 2 yams and 2 greens i?m so disappointed. The... over all taste was ok, unfortunately i guess they are participating in inflation ridiculousness because i paid $23 for 4 veryvery small sides that at the most should have been $3 + taxes. Takes 30 to 45 minutes and the food was subpar. The Mac n cheese was terrible and greasy. The mark of a good soul food... restaurant is half decent Mac n cheese. This place missed the mark! My experience was okay. The service could use some help but it wasn?t the worse. I overheard an employee get upset with another... employee and say a few choice words but not my issue. I sat at the bar to allow time for my order to come out.. it was 2 pplworking at the bar and after 3, 4 or 5 mins, nobody acknowledged me and continued too have there on personal conversation. Ifinally, asked were they serving wine/beer to get their attention. The fish was fried to perfection and was really good. Thecollards were good and tasty. The cornbread muffin was sooo delicious ???? I went here for the first time today and I was not pleased with the service or the food. I was ordering take out it took them... 5-7 min to get to me then after I ordered I waited 45 minutes for my food. There was a regular client that came after mereceived her food before me. I asked a question about what they cook certain items with due to my daughter having a nut allergy,there resolution was to point me to a sign on there menu that state to notify if you have a nut or shell food allergy but won?telaborate on the item that may use contain these items. I kinder stumbled upon this restaurant and I am glad I did! Its a beautiful place, clean, and inviting. The food is to die for... and the staff is so professional and courteous. I recommend this place if you are looking for good food and a pleasantenvironment.. I'd like to add to my comment. After looking at my receipt, I realize I was charged a gratuity 18% without myconsent. At the bottom of the receipt suggested gratuity was listed and a line for an additional gratuity (tip)...it is notlegal to add a tip to a customer's bill because it's not required to tip.
