Cracker Barrel has never been and never will be authentic country food or soul food or whatever you want to call it. I know the... real thing and this ain't it nor did I expect it to be. However, there was a time when one at least had an acceptable mealthere. But recently I ordered take out consisting of 3 lunch servings of chicken and dumplings. None of them had a singlepiece of chicken in them. Not even a hint of chicken taste. Just rubbery dough with flour/corn starchy gravy. Upon arrival athome, I opened the bags to find no utensils or napkins, and no butter for the 6 pieces of corn bread. Luckily I brought thefood home where I have utensils and butter. This was strike 3 for me after two previous failed Cracker Barrel outings inanother state. I'm out! Read more
It has been a while since eating here and was so disappointed. Slow to get a waitress to take our drink order. Our food arrived... quickly, but it was only warm. Ordered chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra. Okra wasn't freshly cooked andthe chicken had been in a warmer, but not hot or fresh. Okra was so bad I couldn't eat it all. Update: I sent corporate my infoand a week later no response. So I guess poor service goes all the way to corporate. Read more
Have been a regular customer for many, many years in several southern states always enjoying items on the menu. I had the WORST... Country Fried Steak lunch EVER!!! Outside crispy as usual, knife cutting inside found the Most Greasy Glob of " beef" I haveever encountered in an eatery in my 79+ yrs. Could NOT Consume. I Was Shocked I had been served this at a Cracker Barrel. Withextended family, I just left food, paid bills & left quietly & politely without causing a scene. So beware! P.S. My family met there for breakfast this morning. My 80 yo mother and 5 others. We went to the hostess and waited for a table. ... While we were waiting another large group came in and the young man working the host counter seated them immediately. Ibrought this to their attention and instead of correcting it, the young man with a sarcastic attitude, went ahead and set theother group with us standing there. The manager was no help and did nothing to rectify the situation. The waitress wasexcellent and that?s the only upside. Read more
Our family of five arrived and checked in with hostess inside, received confirmation of arrival text via the app at 5:46 PM. Was... told that wait time for a dinner table would be roughly 20-25 minutes. No biggie, considering it is Thanksgiving Evening andboth the restaurant and store sides were full to capacity. Nearly an hour later, my husband went inside to check our tablestatus?. Kids were beyond restless and starting to bicker amongst themselves. He waves us in from the porch and we are thenpromptly seated. ?? Our check-in info had been gobbled up by the system and lost. Not cool. This is the reason for only twostars. However, the food was very good and on point! We ordered two children?s meals and three adult meals, ticket total plustip was $75. Which we feel was more than reasonable! Our server was very polite and working her tail off. I know that her feetmust have been aching, but she still smiled and greeted us warmly and was very polite to everyone!
