We'd heard about That Place for many years. Wife's birthday and that's where she wanted to go. Had heard you needed a... reservation so wife called them and no problem getting in. There were 5 of us, daughter Heather, her middle daughter Mandy, afriend of Heather's called Georgia (where he's from), wife Doris and myself Randy. We were seated almost immediately andwaitress came by reasonably soon, to take our drink orders which arrived quickly. Then it was a while before she came back totake our food orders. Place was not very busy at all but right I'm the middle of taking our orders, waitress told us she'd beright back as she thought she had another order up. No table we could see had more than 3 people seated but it took waitressalmost 20 minutes to get back to finish taking our orders. Food did arrive, in our opinion, reasonably soon. Wife, daughterand her friend had ordered steaks. Wife's cooked very close to how she liked it, daughter said her's was considerablyundercooked and her friend's was just slightly under cooked. Mandy and I had both ordered 1/4 BBQ Ribs. Have to say mine we'rebest I'd had in several years but I'd probably rate them as approx 4th or 5th best I'd ever had. During our meal, waitress onlycame back by once, asking how we were doing, but basically just asking while going past our table. She finally got around tobusing our table but didn't even ask if we'd like to maybe order desert, just grab and gone. In passing had to flag her down toask for bill which took another 20 minutes to get. My wife used to waitress and was CV considered one of the best aroundusually making from 50% to 150% more in tips than any of the other waitresses she worked with and in 2 places she worked becametheir head trainer also. So we had about the best to compare with and our waitress in all our opinions fell way short, maybe1/3 as good and being wife's birthday, she did NOT like service at all. Back in time diner. You go for the food not for the elegant atmosphere nor the dazzling personality of manager/owner ????. We... have had prime rib, ribeyes, burgers there. All great. I do also love the Texas toast! We drive about 40 min to go there afew times a year. Read more

It's a rather interesting atmosphere n decor. U can leave a business card to deco there wall! Cozy bar/waiting area(I would... strongly recommend reserv). They r upscale priced. I usually love eating here, as they've got very yummy prime rib on Satnites. Tonites specials were prime rib of pork n a 12oz top sirloin. Not quite understanding y they charged the same price forsirloin special as the better, same size, reg price as the ribeye. I opted to try the stuffed sole. Most dinners come w/choiceof salad(lettuce has chse n fritos), n tato w/Texas toast. Tonite they were a lil busy for a wknite and had a new cook. My stfsole was tiny and it and my veggies were hardly warm and undercooked. Like my steak, but NOT fish med rare. Will be back,calling time a fluke. Read more
