Only pizza bar was open due to "no one being motivated enough to work" so we ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 waters, 2 chips, and 2... virgin daquiris for $60+ which included a convenience fee. Not sure what was convenient about having to wait in line to order,go back up to the bar to get our food, and throw away our own trash. Sandwiches were good but not good enough for that price.Not worth it. Read more
This is the kind of place, you just don't want to leave. The food was excellent, had the pizza with fresh basil, the crust was... amazing!! Great place to eat when you need a break from the Frio River! We all had different brick oven pizzas and they were all great!... Would definitely come here again and highly recommend. Outside seating only but very quaint with fans running so it waspleasant. Friendly, helpful staff to us who have never been here before. Read more
Came to Andy's Cabins up the road for a wedding and stopped here for a few drinks and a snack to kill some time before we had to... get ready. We had ordered the Hummus and it was slightly too salty, it was still a good hummus to nibble on when we drinkthough. We had two rounds each - two beers and two shots of tequila to "prepare"! Suffice it to say, two rounds each, theHummus, and with tip and tax cost us about $105. If you're fine with that have at it, but if you want to save some money I wouldsuggest just getting an appetizer and buying your alcohol at the liquor store right behind the outdoor restaurant. Because wewere only in the cabin for one night for the wedding, we kind of wished we did just that because we felt a bit overcharged. Keepthat in mind if you're looking for food and some drinks! My husband and I came to Hippie Chic?s on a Saturday around 11:30 for an early lunch, and had a great experience! We loved the... relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. There is lots of shade, as well as lots of seating, so finding a comfortable place to stayout of the sun was easy to do. We ordered off the simple menu at the bar, and had a great interaction with the bartender. Weweren?t sure what we wanted to drink, but she was very helpful and personable. We split the ?Hippie? pizza, and were soimpressed! The pizza came out very quickly (within 15 minutes), and was hot and delicious! We also really appreciated that theyhad taken the time to set up a table in honor of the 13 recently fallen soldiers in Afghanistan. Any restaurant who takes extraeffort to pay homage to the men and women who serve our company is a restaurant that I am happy to support. If we?re ever backin Concan, we?ll definitely be making another trip to Hippie Chic?s River Shack! Read more
Great little spot! Great draft beer selection as well as yummy mixed drinks. I love how the menu is really easy. About a half... dozen or so pizzas to choose from and they are delicious! They had a girl on stage singing and playing guitar and she soundedgreat. Nice place, a little expensive though. We wanted to get the cheapest shots we could for a large group (bachelorette party) and... they charged about $13 per shot and they didn?t even taste like much alcohol was in it. Even in downtown Houston I don?t thinkI?ve paid that much for a shot. Felt like it was a little bit of a ripoff.
