They give you the best five star customer service and quality of food at familyfriendly prices! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and you truly feel like you?re a kid in King Arthur?s kitsch court. The last time I was in this restaurant was 1972, and this place hasn?t changed a bit; except I don?t have to hide my face while... watching my grandfather going from table to table asking people for their leftover scapes for his dog? Today is 7/20/22, andthe decor hasn?t changed at all in 50 years. Even that same garish suit of armor still stands sentinel on its elevated platformin the corner of the dining room. Only now I?m part of the same grey-haired demographic that has kept this place alive for thepast 5 decades ? The salad bar was just as fresh and wonderful as I remembered, and the steaks and shrimp are delicious asever. The chicken entree was wonderful as well. This old school style Steakhouse is a step back in time! I couldn?t believe that in its 50 years of service I had never been... here. I?m aware of the nostalgia it brings a lot of Columbus natives but I didn?t know what to expect when I walked in. I wastaken aback by the cafeteria ordering style upon entering but my husband and I settled on Philly cheesesteaks & fries. We optedout of any additional sides like the famous baked potato or salad bar which I now know from reading other reviews was amisstep. I liked being able to choose where we wanted to sit. We snuggled into a booth and a very nice server greeted uspolitely and offered their services should we need anything. There were plenty of employees bustling about making sure therestaurant ran smoothly; it was great to see teamwork in action. Our sandwiches were delivered promptly to our table. I wasreally surprised at how good the food was! The fries could?ve used some seasoning but our Philly Cheesesteaks were so fresh anddelicious we basically inhaled them. Felt nostalgic, so I ate at York for lunch while in Columbus. It was everything I remembered. We had one in our local mall when... I young. Love the decor. It's so 70's, but cool. Love that it is still cafeteria style! Prices are very reasonable. And thankgoodness for a steak house that sells portions that I can handle. I rarely get steak in my area as most places have steaks 10oz.and above. At York, they start at 5oz. For me, it's perfect. Steak cooked exactly as I wanted. The rolls are fantastic. Greatservice from all the staff. For 2, it was just over $40. Read more
