Such a cozy spot. Be sure to make reservations. We were staying at an Air bnb down the street, visiting from South Florida, &... did not know to make a reservation, but we were seated at the bar. Beautiful place, with farm to table dishes. Felt like I hadbeen to heaven, eating the goat cheese appetizer! Read more

This was the perfect spot for a dinner date. The restaurant is beautiful and inviting inside and out. Service was a little... sluggish but friendly and familiar enough with the menu to offer suggestions. Though the menu is a little short it is apparentlyseasonal and takes advantage of fresh produce. Don’t expect it to be the same for your next visit. Personally, I really likethat. Adult beverage selection is diverse enough for everyone to find one (or two) that satisfies. The food was impressive. Itwas priced appropriately. Every bite was flavorful and was a bit different than anything we’ve had before. For example, theburger was a blend of beef and mushrooms. The sweet corn dip was out of this world. We asked for more bread to scrape up everylast bit. The Crest is worth your time and money, and the changing fare will likely draw you back every couple of months. Read more

I want to love The Crest. The people and ambiance are fantastic, and the happy hour specials are a really good deal. The food... just doesn’t hit the spot for me. The appetizers I have had have been consistently good, I have enjoyed ? of the entrees Ihave had, and I have not enjoyed any of the desserts. Cocktails have been just okay. These are just my tastes and yours may bedifferent, probably still worth checking out to see if the food is good for you, because everything else is nice. Especially forhappy hour prices. Read more

The happy hour deals are great value. The regular main courses on the menu are not good value or particularly well cooked. Ask... about accompaniments - disappointing and virtually nonexistent. I suppose if you are on the Atkins diet a few morels count as anaccompaniment. A smear is not a vegetable, and it isn’t even a decoration if the duck leg is placed on top of it. The duckleg was underdone. That's OK with breasts but not legs. A waste of good duck legs. Are these the most expensive Pierogi inColumbus? $24 for three! I would guess yes. Service was excellent apart from the server walking past occasionally who must havebathed in perfume. (Really! It was very distracting/unpleasant.) I might go back during happy hour, but not for dinner. Read more

This experience was something I had been looking forward to for a while - I have followed The Crest on Instagram for a while now... and I frequently find myself exploring their menu just to see what cool combinations and presentations they are doing. To saythat my expectations were exceeded would not sufficiently communicate the magnitude of how positive of an experience wascreated! The garlic bread was absolutely delicious - such a fresh and fun take on something that has become mass produced. Ifeel that some of the allium on top could have been cut up more - but that’s more personal preference. Then we got our drinks- with it finally being warmer they were just so refreshing! The Martha My Dear was not overpowering in any capacity and foundbalance in the fresh basil. For the entrée, I had the walleye and loved every bite - the fresh dill came through periodicallyand paired well with the richness of the sauce. And of course the pickled rhubarb was a wonderful bright contrast to the savorydepth of the fish. We didn’t get dessert this time, but I’m thinking we definitely should next time! A beautiful, trendyatmosphere; a new way to experience Appalachia; and a genuinely well thought out menu - I would recommend to anyone to getdinner at The Crest! Read more

This would get a "B" on my food report card. I think the cuisine and idea is unique, and the ambiance meshes well with the vibe... they are going for. Happy hour is really great for appetizers and drinks with regard to selection and price, but the onecocktail I did get was the Apricot Cobbler and it was difficult to imbibe. The crushed ice formed a sno-cone like ball and thepaper straw quickly became clogged with cobbler sediment and trying to drink out of the mule itself was difficult and I couldnot enjoy the cocktail (I think using a different style mug or not using the crushed ice would help). I also got twoManhattan's, both of those hit the spot. For an appetizer, I got the Fish Fry - very tasty, good portion, and greatpresentation. For an entree, I was pumped to try the Wagyu and Venison meatloaf, but it feel below expectations - for two verytender meats, the meal was burnt and dry; however, the accoutrements were tasty. Service was also ok - my bartender/waitress wasgreat, but she was super busy. Overall, pretty cool experience, I would definitely come back. Read more
