Reviews for Kooma sushi Restaurant in Columbus, OH
My wife and I were in town on business and wanted sushi before heading home. My wife has Celiac though so we are always... cautious when we get food especially away from home. We made a point to ask the server if they had Gluten-Free soy sauce etc.before we sat down so as not to waste their time and we were glad to know that they had a gluten-free menu. We made a point toask for everything we ordered gluten free and my wife ordered specifically so that we knew that it was to her liking. Our serverassured us it would be. Once it arrived though one of the rolls did have tempura in it simply because the server didn't make theright note when putting in the order. They were nice enough to take the roll off the order, but it wasn't enough to have todeal with my wife's insides revolting for 2 days afterward and not trusting the rest of what we ate. We ended up leaving therest of the other roll that we'd gotten. Read more
sushi was good but nothing that blew me away. id probably eat here again but i wouldn?t go out of my way to choose this place... again. i got the kooma roll + tuna nigiri and it was average. the miso soup alone is what made this a 4/5 rating (full star forthe miso soup). service was quick and the staff was nice when picking up my to-go order. This was the second time we've eaten at Kooma. It surprises me that such a good little sushi shop is hiding there beside a... parking garage. Fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, and presented. So good. We even had someone with us that had nevertried sushi and he enjoyed most of the rolls Read more
The best Miso soup we've had outside of California. The sushi was flavorful and the right bit size pieces. We asked for gluten... free and they were able to meet our needs. Bottle of wines are reasonably priced. Read more
The sushi was very good, the fish quality is very good. Service was very bad though and is the one thing I hope they improve.... Otherwise I would definitely come back again. I would recommend trying it out if u are in the mood for good sushi Read more
First and only time I will eat here. I REALLY wanted to like this place, it's been on my list of places to try for a while. To... begin with it is quite overpriced for the portion sizes (see photo of the piece of salmon compared to my thumb, not even closein size and my hands are pretty small). The 2 pieces of Nigiri I got here equal the size of one piece from other sushirestaurants in Columbus and what I got here cost 2x as much. If you get the Nigiri be aware that they put Wasabi between thefish and the rice to hold it together (which was not mentioned on the menu or when ordering) so that completely ruined the tastefor me. The roll I got said deep fried but only the fish in the roll was deep fried, that was not clear. Anywhere else I havegotten this roll, the whole roll has always been deep fried. And every question we asked the girl taking the order had no ideawhat the answer was (she was nice), so even trying to verify descriptions ect was difficult. Tobiko was ok, the quality ofSalmon seemed ok but hard to tell bc of Wasabi, redsnapper in the roll was quite chewy. Last but not least only parkingavailable is at a meter or a paid lot in front of North Market. So you are also going to pay for parking on top of the increasedprice of the food here. Read more
Some of the best sushi I?ve had in a while! I would love to give this place five stars but my server was thee actual worst. She... never asked me anything and for a hour she was literally on her phone speak aggressively. Really just bad service but greatfood! Also my drinks were make incorrectly. Read more
This restaurant is a little tucked away but worth a visit. It was a chilly night so I wanted something warm and this meal hit... the spot. The miso soup was rich in flavor and the hibachi plate was pretty good although the shrimp were pretty overcooked. Thesauce that came with it though was super delicous. I also ordered some eel and sadly by the time it got to me it was quite cold.It seemed like they only had one server for the whole place so the sushi bar got backed up with orders a lot. Read more
