Reviews for El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant in Columbus, OH
I go here pretty often and can honestly say this location taste better than the others even tho it's the same chain. On top of... the great tasting food I always receive top class service. The overall atmosphere of this specific location is unmatchable. Read more
Good always tastes pretty good, and comes out fairly fast when in the restaurant. For the last year and a half or so, when... ordering take out our delivery, they seem incapable of understanding requests to not put the tortilla chips in the nachossupreme orders. If I have to travel sometimes 30-40 minutes after picking them up, the chips are like wet towels. It's awful. Iask every time, and every time now they have refused. I don't understand. Read more
I always wondered why when I passed this place the lot was not filled because Mexican authentic food is the best in my book so I... decided to do a secret shopper review. Too frustrated to list all but I'll be back for an update. Right now I just want toforget that I went. Read more
Best chicken burrito I?ve ever had in my life! It was huge, too. I definitely will be back!
The place is very nice looking and well kept. The drinks and the food were both great. I got the #34 Molcajete Ranchero and it... was great tasting, and had easily enough food for two or to take home and have a couple more meals out of. It's rare for me togo to a restraunt and feel like I got good value for my money and flavor but this place hit both those bars! Read more
I have been a long-time customer of many of the central Ohio El Vaquero restaurants, and it pains me to only give it 3-stars.... Sadly, over the years, it has evolved from a place of great food at good prices to great food at not-so-good prices. Case inpoint, Tacos de Calabazitas (pictured) for $13.19. It is literally three lettuce leaves with a smattering of (admittedly tasty)veggies and a sprinkling of feta cheese (requested to hold the chipotle sauce). Now it is delicious, but I can't see payingthose prices for what equates to tacos - minus the tacos. It would be far more realistic to price them somewhere closer to the$9-$10 price-point. Get that pricing fixed, and I'd be happy to return and give you more stars. Read more
We were party of 7 and food was very very average. Bland and tasteless. Ordered few drinks the were good. Our server was not... really a good host. Ordered shrimp tacos and shrimp were delicious but tortillas were stale. Chicken fajitas were ok.. I won?tbe visiting the place for sure. Read more
I live in California and perhaps I'm spoiled. My niece chose El Vaquero and she was satisfied with her meal. However this was... the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. I don't know how you can ruin a cheese quesadilla but I did not like it at all. I took 2bites and set it aside. They must be using a different type of cheese than any other restaurant I've been in and I eat Mexicanfood every week. The chips had no taste, the refried beans must have been straight out of a can with zero seasoning -- and Idon't even like spicy foods. The chicken taco was okay but again, was very bland. Even though there were only 4 customers inthe restaurant after 15 minutes of waiting for someone to come take our order, I finally got up and asked for our waitress tocome take our order. I could see her and she was very busy playing on her cell phone. Someone else, I'm assuming the manager, came over and took our order. Read more
