I ate a delicious "early supper" yesterday [10-17-2022] at the Bob Evans restaurant at 900 Bethel Rd. I had been in that... neighborhood yesterday for other reasons so I decided to eat at that Bob Evans before returning home. I have eaten at variousBob Evans restaurants occasionally "over the years" [most frequently when my family has gathered for a "birthday celebration"meal]; my meal yesterday may have been the first time ever when I have eaten -- alone -- at a Bob Evans restaurant. My foodchoice for yesterday had been a Bob Evans Wildfire® Chicken Salad: "fresh greens topped with Homestyle fried or grilledchicken, corn, diced tomato, cheddar cheese, tortilla strips, and a drizzle of Bob Evans Wildfire® sauce." My salad had beenserved with Wildfire® ranch dressing and warm biscuits. I consistently order a Wildfire® Chicken Salad whenever I eat at BobEvans because that item is so delicious and is definitely my favorite item on their menu. The service at Bob Evans had beenfriendly and helpful; the one odd thing about my visit that I want to report here is that I had not realized while eating mymeal that "dine-in" customers are expected to pay for their meals at a service counter near the entrance [rather than the servercollecting the payment at the table which is what usually happens at restaurants]. After having waited for several minutes atmy table for my server to collect my payment, I decided to go to the service counter to ask if I should be paying there instead.I thereby learned that all customers -- both "dine in" and "carry out" -- are expected to pay at the service counter. I hadbeen planning to use a several-years-old Bob Evans "gift card" to pay for my meal but was told, while attempting to pay withthat gift card, that that card had expired. No mashed potatoes because vendor didn't deliver, which we were told at the beginning. Then no hashbrowns, the french fries were... terrible and home fries were burned. Service was terrible with the server forgetting things, mixing up orders and just generallyconfused. We considered leaving but everyone was hungry. We should have left. Read more
Good food although their sausage gravy for their biscuits & gravy is not the traditional white sawmill gravy. It tasted pretty... much like beef gravy with crumbled sausage added. I asked if they had white gravy instead & they did but without any sausage. Iaccepted that but was charged for the sausage gravy. Oh well. Their banana bread is very good. I used to have a 5 star review. I went in for some veggie soup. The lady at the front desk wasn't very nice. Was upset giving 3... more crackers. She gave 3 I thought and argued about giving 4 . The soup was okay cold but okay mostly just potatoes, I had 3bites of meat. I think they like the number 3 at this place. The place only had acouple people inside I see why now. Read more
Even after the venture capital takeover, still no respect for vegan customers. I asked for no milk with my oatmeal, but they... couldn't not bring it to me.
