I had the pulled pork sandwich from the truck this afternoon at New Belgium. It was like shredded paper - so dry and completely... tasteless. This place was clean. The barbecue was nothing to brag about. It was just ok. The hush puppies were plain, about like cornbread,... had no onions, which would have helped the taste. Prices was good, but you had to order and sit down. No waitresses. They wouldbring your order to you. You get your own drink and your own refills. All said and done, I would give them 4 stars. Mountain view BBQ makes some really good barbecue. They also have a really good sweet tea, which is the keystone of a good... restaurant. But I recommend calling and seeing what the special of the day is. Their meatloaf sandwich is the bomb! Read more
Don't judge a book by its cover is the first thing I will say! The outside is unassuming but when you walk in you are... immediately engulfed in a warm, small town, welcoming decor and atmosphere. From the charming photos and signs to invitingtables to eat at. You go up to the counter to order where a smiley and friendly young woman takes your orser and provides somegood suggestions. The food follows rather quickly and that's where you easily forget about anything else because you have justwalked into one of the absolutely best tasting BBQ joints in the Smokey Mountains, if not THE BEST. Cooked to perfection themeat is INCREDIBLE and the sides are to die for. Corn diggers fried to absolute perfection along with fried green tomatoes andthe best bbq beans that I gave ever tasted. And yes this establishment was featured on the Food Network and for goodreason!!!!!!! Mountain View BBQ is right off 26 and an absolute MUST STOP, if you are heading to Ashville or anywhere North,and if you are heading back South then it's a perfect excuse for a break during your drive. YUMMY!!!!!!! Sums it up for me. My only request, REAL HONEY BUTTER with those corn diggers. Margeraine is NOT BUTTER and a chemically laden acutrament servedwith all the other freshly made food is simply out of place. Bring on the real butter please ????. Delicious food! Came here a couple years ago and it was just as good as this time too. Great day at Justus Orchard right down... the road and lunch here! Moved to SC a few years ago from up North, and this is the only place I like to get Fried Okra. It'sthe best here. Read more
Saw your truck at New Belgium Brewery yesterday & wasn't real hungry so just got the sides. The potato salad was really weird... tasting & couldn't eat it, but beans & rice would have been great if rice was fully cooked & not so crunchy. Maybe it was just abad day for the sides. Read more
