I came in on a date night excited to eat some good Italian but was disappointed in the good, prices, and service. The aesthetic... is very outdated but it seemed like a family run establishment so I didn?t care. We waited at least 30 minutes for ourappetizers when there was literally only 2 other tables there. The service was so slow and the food was just okay so for theprice, definitely wasn?t worth it to me. The table next to us even said ?this place used to be so much better, it may just be anoff night? Avoid at all cost unless you want your whole family throwing up all night! Many bugs were crawling around. The food was not... good, burnt flour caked on the bottom of the pizza, bland pasta with no seasonings. This place could be so good if it just actually tried.. the atmosphere is terrible, the servers just wear whatever they want to... work and when we arrived there was bleach puddles on our table. One of the lasagnas we ordered tasted like chemicals and theCaesar salad that was $6 barely filled a small wooden bowl. Several members of our party had upset stomachs the next day. Let me mention first that the waitress was really nice. She was as sweet as sweet can be. However the service was absolutely... terrible, she had only been working 4 days, she seemingly had no training. She shows up to the table only when called when iasked what beer they served she mistaked sparkling water for a beer, just alot of things she just didn'tknow or justwasn'tfamiliarwith. Not her fault because she litterally served every table in the establishment. There are 4 or 5 people behindthe counter thats full of old receipts paperwork and whatever else ( looks like a back office thats shared by 5 and meant for1). Im guessing 2 of them were maybe the owners children because they were only concerned with their phones. I understand afamily run establishment but i feel this one should have been kept at home. They ran out of all beer i had the last bud litewhich i chose because everything else was already gone. I taste my wifes wine and say ok no problem bring me one of those. Shebrings it to me and there's lipstick on the wine glass...lol (see pictures) and thats the last of the wine. Calamari was coldand chewy, cheesesticks were ok. The chicken inside the chicken parm was cooked perfectly the rest of it left alot to bedesired. The seafood stew that was recommended to be ordered spicy on the menu came out bland. Ordered from here via grubhub on 1/17 and this is what arrived. It was supposed to be a margherita pizza but as you can see it... came burnt and barely distinguishable. It also tastes gross. Absolutely gross. Like a mixture of Clorox and old sink water. No Ihaven?t tasted either one but I?ve smelled both and the taste of this pizza resembles both. Ugh. I took one bite and knewsomething was off. Stupidly I took another to be sure and literally gagged. When I called to make a complaint the phone was offthe hook. Smh. It saddens me to even make this review, I LOVED this place for awhile. Quality was great, service was great. The owner continues... to provide a friendly and authentic atmosphere. However, over the past year everything has changed. Staff gets the orders wrongcontinuously, ingredients are changed, and despite multiple reassurances, my nursing discount hasn't been honored in almost ayear. Despite multiple conversations with the owner. Couple months ago came in for their fantastic crybaby sandwich, somehowthat got turned into a steak sandwich filled with peppers, not a fan but we waited so long to get our food (almost an hour andwe were the only people there at 11am) I just ate it and moved on. The owner offered to comp my next sandwich. Again, I cannotspeak any higher about his customer service, but it's the restaurant as a whole that is failing. After that shortly I triedordering some pizzas, which the young lady on the phone said there was no more discount for health care workers, so I said fineI don't mind paying for quality, but when I got the pizzas home the "large" pizzas I ordered were barely medium at best, andhardly any toppings. I made a Facebook post to which the owner himself addressed it and apologized. Fast forward tonight, Ispoke with the owner, super nice as usual. I go to pick up a pizza for my parents and myself. I add on some calamari becausethey've been the best I'd had before normally, and I love calamari. Calamari was chewy, all head pieces no legs, seemed awfullycommercial. Not in any way what they've served me before. The "Italian" sausage was NOT anything like previous visits, it waslike hot Johnsonville sausages, and what's worse is that I've ordered this before and they were great! This little place has got to be one of the best Italian joints around! The food and service is phenomenal! You get hit with that... fresh baked bread smell as soon as you walk through the front door. All of the food was fresh, hot, and DELICIOUS! Everythingwas cooked perfectly. I highly recommend anyone coming here if they like Italian food. I will definitely be returning for more. Read more
