We had Sarah as our server, who was very kind, attentive, and loving personality. We ordered a brisket plate with homemade slaw... and bacon wrapped jalapeños, pulled pork and brisket nachos, and 2 kids pulled pork plates. This was the best brisket I haveever eaten. This is how brisket is supposed to be cooked. I?ve had brisket from KY, TN, and Texas, and this by far was the mostmoist and flavorful. We finished it off with homemade banana pudding. The Midwood smokehouse was not on our radar but a search led us to it. It is a true BBQ joint that really delivers on... atmosphere, friendly service at the bar and at your table, excellent food, and very generous portions. We both ordered the smallversion and it was all we could do to eat it all. My brisket was excellent and came with one side. I picked collard greens andthey were great but it also came with some very tasty hush puppies and some pickled cucumbers and onions that reminded me of oldfashioned ?refrigerator pickles ?. I don?t live in Columbia but this will definitely be a must visit next time I am in town. Read more
Context: we have eaten at hundreds of bbq places and also smoke our own meat. Service was great. Beans were a little... disappointing. Ribs, chicken, brisket and sausage were all good but nothing was exceptional. Liked the hot bbq sauce the best ofthe four. The atmosphere was good too. Overall a good place if you are local but not something to make a special trip for. Read more
Great overall service and food. I had the meat platter which consisted of 4 proteins and 2 sides ($30). The pork ribs were... really tasty and the meat was tender, the brisket was good as well( the other two were good, nothing outstanding). I enjoyed thebbq beans and the Mac and cheese a lot. For dessert I had the pecan cobbler, which was a great ending for my meal. It was a lotof food( I had to take half of it home), and service on point. Read more
Hubby has wanted to introduce me to this one for awhile, so when we finally had a date night we decided it was time. ???? It was... good! He got tacos which he shared with me. They were delish ????? I got a salad. Only ?complaint? is I wish it had morechicken on it. Seemed too light on that ingredient but otherwise it too was yummy and I?d get it again. Came for dinner at the bar. The food was exceptional for the price and the drinks were relatively cheap with good happy hour... deals ($2 domestic bottles). Even the full priced drinks were very reasonable. I had the Midwood Grilled Cheese with pulledpork and hush puppies. Both were excellent, and I have nothing negative to say about it. The beef brisket was very tasty and the service was great. I ordered the Mack and cheese, barbecue baked beans, and iced tea.... The service was excellent and the food came out quickly. The Beef brisket was tender and flavorful, the Mack and cheese wascreamy and delicious, and the barbecue baked beans were sweet and savory. My first visit and it was GREAT! The establishment is pretty big and looks really nice outside. There is inside and outside... seating available. Upon entering I was greeted and seated less than 2minutes and it was pretty packed. I went on a Tuesday about620PM. I had the BURNT ENDS Caramelized cubes of brisket tossed in cola barbecue sauce AMAZINGLY GOOD! I also had collard greensfor my sides, hush puppies that were fried to perfection and cucumbers that tasted soooooo good. I had some of my friend?sbanana pudding, Oh my that was amazing as well. Overall the atmosphere was great, they have TV?s with games going on and musicthat was at the right volume not to loud not to low! I rate my first visit 5 STARS and highly recommend!
