I have had mixed experiences at this maurices. This is the 3rd time out of my last 5 visits that my meal has just been OK. Had a... BBQ plate. The BBQ portion was fine, the hash and rice plentiful, but not the same as usual. I ordered lg hush puppies whichwere very cold and soggy.(I ate some before I left the drive through, so they didnt sit for a while after I got them). BUT CMONMaurices, a 3 1/4oz cup of baked beans and the same size slaw for sides? ....that's the same size container that a side ofsauce comes in. The beans didn't even fill the cup. The food was good, though the rolls seemed a bit stale. Maybe they just got a little too warm in the kitchen. We called in an... order for the family pack and it was ready when we got there. Great price for the meal. Read more
The BBQ place I wanted to go to was closed today so I went to Maurice's. I thought it was just ok. The building had a great... sense of ambience and the staff was very friendly, but the food was more of the chain store quality as opposed to "real" BBQ. Ihad the 3 meat platter with brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork. The brisket was good, as was the chicken, but the porkwas not that great. It was a little dry and had an odd flavor. They served them all with mustard BBQ sauce which surprised me. I would have preferred to add my own sauce. For the sides I chose mac and cheese as well as potato salad. The noodles in themac and cheese were soggy and there was very little cheese flavor. The potato salad was dry, but had a good flavor. I hadhoped for a more authentic experience and this was not it. The dining areas were clean as were the bathrooms. I probably won'tbe back. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means somethingwas extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible Read more
