Went with a friend and had lunch. The first thing observed was the classic German feel in the surrounding. I ordered a Reuben... sandwich pictured here. It was piled with corn beef, sauerkraut and the German sauce. Has to cut it with a fork and use a knife.Delicious ???? Read more

Excellent and authentic German food. As somebody who lived in Germany for a few years as a kid and had a German Oma, the food... and decor was all on point. The staff seems really cool too! Also, I see a lot of reviews saying you could only pay with cash orcheck...I was about to pay with a credit card as of October 2022 when I checked it out. Next time I'm in the area I'll stop byagain! I highly recommend this place! Read more

I just had a fantastic meal at Julia?s (Authentic German Food). There is enough left over for at least 2 more meals. Her salad... is the tops! Most German salads were like hers but have since turned toward American salads. Her double decker is unequaled withcheese and ham in the middle of 2 schnitzels with musroom gravy and cheese sauce on top. THE BEST!!! On top of all that I had tosuccumb to their homemade Black Forest Cake!!! Julia?s even has German beer on tap, German wine and jagermeister prechilled. Oneof my favorite spots in Columbia. Be warned that they are packed at times and don?t take credit cards. BTW, they are locatednear Clemson Road & I-20. Update 8/20/22 Still fantastic!!! Lots of German beer on tap and spirits. Incredible experience!!! I?m so glad this German restaurant is near Columbia! I?ve been learning German for years, have been to... Germany twice, and am planning to live there soon. I finally visited Julia?s and was not disappointed! The schnitzel wasincredible and the German potato salad equally so. They also gave me and my roommate our radlers for free which was beyondgenerous. It?s cash only so come prepared, but definitely definitely do come. I will certainly be back soon myself. Read more

BEST German food around! Have been many times but this was our 1st time to their new location at 120 Sparkleberry Crossing. We... went Saturday (Sept 11) with a group of family and friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our server, Ky, is a USC studentand an excellent server. She catered to all our wishes and did a great job. The food as always was amazing. They even had someOktoberfest Spaten beer on draft! The new location is large, very accommodating, and decorated with a wide variety of Germanbeer steins and cuckoo clocks. We loved it and had a fabulous time. Read more

The best part of the day was meeting Julia. The food was nothing to rave about the cheesy Jager schnitzel (veal) was cold. The... sauce which I asked to be served on the side was also cold. The Jager schnitzel (pork) had few mushrooms in the gravy and wasalso cold. Both the schnitzel lacked flavor and tasted as if they were prepared earlier and then "warmed." The German potatosalad was strong with vinegar and the German salad was from a can. The server was extremely rude as I asked before ordering ifthere were any special and was told the menu is the menu. I mentioned I wanted a to go order for a friend which I would orderbefore the end of our meal and was asked even before getting our meal were we ready to place that to go order. The place is acash only they do provide an ATM which charges a fee. When going to get the cash before ordering the server went back to myguest at the table and asked if we were ready to order clearly we were not since one party was not even at the table. Poorcustomer service I will not recommend nor come back. Unfortunately we did like Julia but the other staff is just rude. Read more

EAT HERE IN COLUMBIA! I travel often and try to eat at local places and this is by far the best food I have ever had in my years... of travel! I love places which are traditional to the root and Julia's does not disappoint! Order the Jerryschitzel (not onmenu) and be amazed! On top of that the palace is family run and I saw Julia, at over 80 years old cleaning tables! This is soawesome and aligns with my love of people, food, and tradition! Do not miss this place! This is my new favorite restaurant in Cola! The service was outstanding, the food rivaled anything we?ve had in Germany, and the... owner, Julia, greeted us and introduced herself as soon as we walked in the door. Such a great atmosphere and everyone workingthere treats you like family. I got the rouladen and my husband got the cheese schnitzel. Both were amazing and it was so muchfood for an awesome price. Also have to mention that the beer is delicious too! Read more
