This is from my visit on 7/16. This review is mainly driven by how terrible our service was; food was decent, nothing special.... Waitress took our drink order - we started with waters while deciding on other drinks. Took her close to 10 minutes to bring thewaters then take our bar drink orders. Took almost another 10 minutes for the drinks to show up and for her to then take ourfood orders. Restaurant was nowhere close to busy enough to justify her long absences throughout the night. I had the Santa FePower Bowl with Chicken. Food came out in a decent amount of time. After she dropped the food off I noticed mine did not haveavocado as indicated on the menu. I waited several minutes for her to come back by to ask but did not see her so I began eatinganyways. Finally, after another 10 minutes or so, she reappeared as I was over halfway through my meal. I asked about theavocado and she had to go the kitchen to check. Came Back and let me know they were out of it. Great. Told her that was one partof the bowl I had been looking forward to. She just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Very disappointing reaction and alsothat there was no warning there would be no avocado. The place used to be the spot for good food and drinks . I guess all good things must come to an end . Do I want to see the... place go back to been on top yes. But the way it is now : -Floor - food and crumbs everywhere -Multiple table not cleaned orwiped . The hostess grabbed a single napkin and wet it to clean a table for 6 . - Waitresses seem to do more walking thanchecking on customers If they can?t find staff cut back on the number of tables . Hit or miss. I went on Thursday and had the best experience. Service was great, food was perfect. I had the salmon with broccoli... and brussle sprouts. Everything was impeccable! The salmon had a nice crust, super moist. The broccoli was steamed perfectly,tasted so very fresh. The Brussel spouts? So good. I left a 40% tip because of the service and food. On Saturday evening I toldmy sister and son about how good this place was. Hyped it up so much I won the vote as to where we went. We arrived at 7. Wewere seated outside, as requested. It took forever for someone to even take our drink order. One hour after we arrived, westill didn't have our food. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy. At this point I went to the hostess stand to ask to get ourfood to go. The food came out about ten minutes later, cold. We had asked for two orders Togo, but these were not put inyet. Understandable. The eta on these two burgers, ten minutes. We sat there for 25 minutes. The food we ordered, and then gotto go, was eaten. Except the food truck chicken and rice I ordered. No sauces came with it. The waiter/ess purposefully made apoint to not make eye contact with us. They never refilled drinks. Always put their back to us. We went in one evening before the dinner rush. Our waitress was super nice and sweet. I had a new power bowl that I feel needs... to remove from the menu. My friend enjoyed his power bowl. The fresh baked cookies were a hit for us once we got home. Overall,I like Hickory Tavern. The bowl wasn't nasty I just didn't care for it. Read more

Kudos to Hickory Tavern for great food and drinks. The wait wasn?t long at all even in the wake of a somewhat full house and... limited staff. Our server Hannah was so patient and very charismatic in how what navigated through the floor making sure each ofher guest needs were met. We will be sure to visit again. Read more
The tea-rriffic cocktails were good and strong. The grouper sandwich was crispy and delicious - perfectly seasoned and fried.... The shrimp po'boy was disappointing - there were like 5 small shrimp on the roll. The tots and tavern chips were cold. Weordered nachos but they were out of chips so we kept the appetizer with fries and it was delicious. The service and ambiencewere great. Our waitress was amazing! We watched an entire game during our visit - staff changed the channels and sound for thegame. We will definitely be back. Read more
Nah, I?m starting to believe this community has no taste buds. I?ve been to every place recommended and this one was no... different. Service was passive aggressive, food was bland. But I did enjoy the cleanliness. Always a good thing. But hey, tryit.. if you like it, cool. If not, I think you?ll definitely have a sense on what I meant. Read more
