Let me start off by saying the staff was stellar. Absolutely wonderful. The restaurant, gorgeous. Beautiful setting. Now, on to... the libations upon our arrival. My husbands margarita was pretty good. My Haitian horchata...not so much. It was more like aglass of a Bazooka bubblegum flavored milky weird mess. My husbands enchiladas were just ok. As far as Chile en Nogada!!!! NOabsolutely NOT! I have NO IDEA what this disaster of a mess this was but it was NOT chile en nogada. First off the blue platecame to me filthy on the rim. A outrageous pile of charred hideously flavored meat with a few flecks of cilantro on HALF of aburied chile greeted me at my table. NO POMEGRANATE and a faint drizzle of nogada sauce UNDERNEATH the mess of meat . I figuredno big deal, maybe this is La Cavas take on a traditional Mexican staple. Absolutely NOT! My first bite was so bad I couldbarely swallow it. I continued as this was a surprise birthday dinner for me from my husband and I didn't want to appearungrateful. However, my face could not hide the assault happening on my side of the table. He also took a bite and agreed thatwhatever I was served was inedible. This place is labeled as "fine Mexican dining!?" I don't think the powers that be, have everBEEN to Mexico. I am extremely upset to have paid this much just to leave hungry and disappointed. Read more

It saddens me to write this as my husband and I actually thought the food was good. The only downside was it is really expensive... and you get very little food. My husband mentioned this on facebook in one of his foodie groups, saying the food was great butthe portions and prices were not great. Well, someone who works there commented on my husbands post, saying they took a screenshot of his profile photo and was posting it in the restaurant making sure we were never served there again! All for saying theprices were high! So beware that this is how they do business. So immature Read more

Fantastic in every way. Intimate setting with high ceilings, stone walls, dimly light with giant, antique chandeliers. All of... the food is tremendous. Mexican fine dining at its best. Salsa Is unique, loaded with flavor, without the overbearing heat socommon to this area. My wife?s enchiladas were the best I?ve ever tasted. The meat inside was so tender and the red sauce theyuse is absolutely the best. The steak fajitas were cooked perfectly medium. The flavor of the grilled poblanos it comes withput me in Mexican food heaven. The GM, Hawkin, was very attentive. We can?t wait to go back. Prices are spot on given thequality and portion size. How have I not heard of this place!?! Read more

La Cava is the best Mexican restaurant that you don?t know about in Colorado Springs. They are located in a business/medical... park, which is a little strange but their food is well worth the journey. I was able to try their lamb tacos, mole and theirguacamole and it was some of the best Sonoran style Mexican food I?ve ever had!!! The server, Jules, was a total sweetheart whenwe visited. She was very attentive and took great care of my party. Things are quieter for lunch and they say that La Cava getsa little busier for dinner. I wasn?t able to try their margarita but I heard it?s to die for!!! Read more

We loved it! We had the enchiladas suizas, steak fajitas, and beef taco salad with a few cocktails. The queen marble drink was... delicious I had to stop myself from ordering another. We all loved our meals, it was definitely a different style of Mexican vsthe super fast/extra large portion style mexican joint I've typically been to but I enjoyed the change. All the food was verywell prepared and we all left stuffed but not feel like we drowned in cheesy grease. Enchiladas were perfect and the steakfajitas were super tender and cooked perfectly. The most exquisite take on Mexican I've ever encountered. Not only is the food perfectly rich, balanced, and flavorful, but the... ambiance and decor is gorgeous. Very fairly priced for the quality. Perfect for a special occasion or a splurge. Read more
