Reviews for Kohnami Sushi in Colorado Springs, CO
Honestly? Excellent food! Don't come if you're in a rush or you get hangry after a while. You will need patience. Because this... cute local small business is SMALL and spends the time to produce quality food, you unfortunately have to sacrifice your waittime. Despite that, I still give five stars because the atmosphere is so intimate, romantic, and adorable. The sushi is alsodelectable (monkey business is my favorite). It's a lovely hole in the wall place my fiancé and I come to on special occasions. Read more
A nice little restaurant tucked in Union and Briagate Blvd. It has every potential to be a typical Japanese's sushiten you would... find in Tokyo, except when you examine a little more, the restaurant is appealing to more Western aesthetic and palate. I askedthe sushi chef (Itamae), and was told Kohnami means little wave; in contrast to tsunami, a harbor wave. Nice little chat, Ithought. Food was great and priced very reasonably. I loved the "Monkey Business" roll. LIKE the quiet music in the background.Very ideal to have quiet time with some sushi and enjoy a glass of sake or green tea away for some evenings. Read more
We tried Kohnami on a whim. We had been to another popular sushi restaurant and walked out after watching other diners served... before us, even though they came in after we were seated. We were pleasantly surprised by the service here and in the quality ofthe food. I can't say the waiter was all that attentive, but we weren't ignored and he timed the drinks, soup, and salad so wedidn't feel as though we were waiting too long for the main course. The food is good and there was enough to make you feel theprice was reasonable. I will go back! Read more
The food was absolutely divine. My son won't stop talking about the chicken ramen. My sushi was delicious. My in-laws got the... love boat and loved it. My only suggestion is to be prepared to wait. It took us over an hour to get our food. We were a largeparty but the only ones in there. I guess fantastic food is worth waiting for though. I'll definitely be back. Read more

I ? sushi and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered a calamari roll, a Buffallo, and a Big Sea Monster. (I think I got the names... right...ish ????) So good! Everything was fresh. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the Big Sea Monster. The seaweedsalad with the sweet eel sauce, muah× perfection! Also this might bring be totally pretentious, but I'm going to say it. Iordered a green tea. She brought me a perfectly brewed cup of tea. It wasn't bitter at all. They got the 5th star ???? just forthat. ???? tea matters ? Read more
I love a good hole-in-the-wall, but this wasn?t for me. Menu is different where they have sushi and Korean dishes. Okay, maybe... it?s fine as long as owners are Korean. The sushi itself was very appealing, but it lacked flavor. The rice was dry, and thesushi wasn?t great quality. Finally, it?s rather weird that I had to write down my own order. Read more
