"Food like that has no right to be so good, but every right to be in my body. I feel like I came out a better person after... eating that food. I am a changed man." -my boyfriend, who ate the bean and cheese empanada and the arepa vegana. I ordered thesame things and man, they were delicious. Nothing I can say will do that food justice. Plus, the staff are very friendly! Ican't wait to eat at El Taco y La Arepa again!!! Read more
First time visiting Colorado Springs. And I was in the mood to eat something from the home land (Venezuela). These were THE BEST... arepas I’ve had in a very long time. With a batida de Chinola!!!! Truly delicious. The owner was a sweetheart. I was talkingto her for while talking about Venezuela. It felt like being home. When ever I’m in Colorado Springs again this will be mynumber one spot to eat! My mouth just waters thinking about the arepas. Read more

I didn’t like the food. The salsa was too spicy and the guacamole was watery and not what I expected. However, this is... authentic Mexican food and I didn’t realize it until after we had been seated. I prefer Tex-Mex. I gave three stars becausethe owner was very nice and the place was clean. Also, it is not fair for me to rate low because I don’t like their type offood. Read more
The service was okay, although we’re pretty sure our waitress forgot about us and left us sitting alone in the dining room for... 20 minutes, she was kind. The fajitas were decent, but come with one giant burrito size tortilla instead of fajita sizetortillas. The guacamole which was $7 was absolutely disgusting and it looks more like a watery cream. There was no avocado oreven avocado flavor. It was served in a tiny dish with a small portion of tortillas chips that tasted like they came from a bag. Read more

This is a nice change to your traditions "spanish" food as they serve Mexican and Venezuelan dishes. The agua frescas are a... must. Overall plate presentation and flavor of the food exceeded my expectations. The homemade salsa is not your typical stylebut with 4 options to try one will fit your heat level. Will definitely return on my next visit to this area. Read more
