We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food. I had the chicken tacos and hubby had chicken (medium) and... ribs. Bothe were very good. Delicious! My son and I shared the chicken tenders and waffles because the entrees are rather large! They gave us an extra tray.... Service was great and the food was incredible. Found this place while driving around and we were pleasantly surprised. Parking is easy, location was clean. Staff was very... friendly. There are not many variety on the food pretty much tenders or sandwiches but they were great. Medium heat is actuallyhot. Fries were delicious and fresh. Walked in on Labor Day, late afternoon and we were greeted immediately by a staff member. It was our first time here and the... staff member walked us through the menu. During the conversation I asked about the Cole slaw and another staff member jumped inand explained that he doesn?t like coleslaw so he created something different that he liked. Turns out he is the owner(co-founder) of the chain. The ribs, chicken tenders and chicken and waffles were really good. Slow cooked ribs that fell ofthe bone, delicious chicken that tasted fresh with a nice batter and waffles that tasted like they were made from scratch. Theowner brought over some extra sauces for use to try and talked to us for a bit about the menu. At the end he brought out icecream cookie sandwich samples (oatmeal butterscotch) and wow! I love giving 5 stars to restaurants however I just can't do it on this one and it has nothing to do with the food. The food was... outstanding. I ordered the chicken and waffles and a side a cole slaw. The chicken tenders were very fresh and likely batteredand fried when I ordered. I chose the mild hotness and that was enough to light me up. The slaw was perfectly sweet and thefries were crisp.Lasty, the waffles were simply perfect. Tasty and light and fluffy. My problem with this location was theconfusion when entering. There's no decals on the door and it's confusing which door to enter through. When entering therestaurant, you're greeted with hand sanitizer and a stainless steel bar to the right with no signs telling you what to do.There's also a large counter in the back with the menu on the wall and that's where I went. However, I must have skipped theline by the bar but they took my order anyway. Service was outstanding and food was outstanding. I highly recommend this placeto eat. The Cookshack College Station opened in November 2021 and is the new spot to go. Their Nashville hot chicken is great! They have... different levels of spice and I prefer the medium although the hot is also good if you want some heat. I liked the mac n cheeseand the fries were just okay, a little too salty. One of the best restaurants I?ve had in college station (that?s not a franchise). The hot chicken was like hot Cheetos spicy so... that?s a good reference. Pretty moist, way better than the average Canes or Whataburger. The sweet potato fries were nice andcrispy. Next time, I?ll need to get more sauce because 1 just isn?t enough. Had a great time eating lunch here! ... The food came out fast despite the restaurant being busy. I like that you can mix up the... spice level within your order, I got 3 medium and 2 Texas Hot and my wife got 2 mild and 1 medium. The Texas Hot was spicy, butstill had good flavor.
