BEST cornbread I've ever had. The steak was very good, I've had better but still no complaints there. Pork chops were excellent,... moist but not undercooked. The bavette was very good, certainly a different taste from a traditional steak in a chop house, great flavor but I don't think I would order it again. Service was excellent also, our server was very attentive and alwaysaround without being a nuisance. Definitely coming back! Read more

Don't waste your money. My server, Hayden, was great and the hostesses were super friendly. My problem comes with the food and... the manager on duty. The steak tartare was a little bland but nicely presented. The major disappointment came with the crispybrussels sprouts that came out burned. The server and manager both admitted that they were forgotten in the fryer. Haydeninsisted to fix the situation and contacted his manager. Several minutes later the manager dropped the dish and simply walkedaway without saying anything. He missed the opportunity for service recovery. As I finished the dry salmon and bland black ricethe manager came up to check on my meal. I told him the brussel sprouts were better but still burned. I also addressed him aboutdropping the dish earlier without saying anything, I could tell he wasn't happy about the situation and he said he was too busyearlier. I spent $68, before tip, on bad food. Hayden was a pleasure and I felt bad complaining because he was so sweet. Themanager is what bothered me the most. I hate asking for a discount on my meal and I feel like this should've been offered whenit was clear that they messed up. I wonder if I was treated poorly because I was a female dining by myself? Idk, verydisappointing experience. Read more

My wife and I went for lunch and had the dinner for two. It was $185 for 2 salads, 2 sides, 1 32 Oz Porterhouse, and 1 large... shareable dessert. The food was poorly handled for the price. The salad was fine, but come on, it's a salad. The sides we gotwith our meal were mashed potatoes and carrots. Both were served cold. The Porterhouse was supposed to be the star of the show, but it fell short too. We ordered it medium, but it came out from a range of temperatures from rare to well done. I understandwhen you cook a bone in steak that it takes longer to cook near the bone. However, when done properly, it should be an evencook. It should have been approached better for the price point and reputation. I COULD HAVE WENT TO TEXAS ROADHOUSE AND GOT THESAME STEAK COOKED BETTER. The dessert was good though. When we arrived, we were told that we had to wait for ten minutes to beseated when the establishment was obviously mostly empty. This was probably due to space out the waitress's services. Iunderstand that and it shouldn't be factored against the establishment , but we went to the bar for a drink and we're neverserved. That is a huge oversight for not only hospitality but also for the restaurant to meet its bottom line. They shouldn'tmiss out on that opportunity. Especially since drinks have large profit margins for the business. The server did great. She wasa trooper and trained very well. I will not be going back to this place. Read more

Celebrating a 76th birthday, our kids took us to the well rated Porter’s Steakhouse in College Station on a Sunday. We rarely... eat steak, so this treat was really special! It’s an inconspicuous place in a mall connected to the George Hotel. Parking wasright next to the front door. Checking out the menu in advance of arrival, hubby and I knew we really wanted to try theunusually named cocktail: Corpse Reviver #2, as we were not driving. The bar displayed labels one only sees in super high classestablishments. The cocktail ingredients were equally rare including Lillet, an aromatized liqueur from Podensac, France -properties said to cure a hangover - that really hit the palate with a pleasing fruity smack. The wine, scotch and cocktailofferings impressed us. We opted out of appetizers to get started eating the main course. The kids ordered Sunday brunchincluding chicken and waffles (really tasty) and a huge burger while hubby and I shared a 14 oz ribeye, medium rare, with familystyle sides. SO good. Perfectly cooked with that aroma you can only get from a certain grill, the steak had just a bit ofgristle I could not eat. We all still had room to split perfect peach cobbler and signature chocolate fudge birthday cake withsparkler! Service was perfect. Bathrooms were, too. I felt a little sad there were not more people in the place but we arrivedtoward the end of Sunday brunch, so maybe it was more occupied earlier. Definitely will revisit. Read more

Our server Samantha was very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. While the prices may be a little high, the service and... the taste make up for it! One of the managers, Adam, was also very generous in providing the cornbread recipe. ???? Read more

My visit at Porters was perfect! Austin was a very attentive waiter. He answered all our questions and all of our food and... drink were served quickly and flawlessly. Dakota visited with us at the end of our meal to make sure we were satisfied. I amvery happy and will recommend this establishment to others in B/CS. Read more
