We went on a Saturday morning, there was no wait. I don?t know how because the food was SO good. If you like cracker barrel... style (country cooking) you will never go to cracker barrel again. The service at Moose Cafe was excellent! I was greeted immediately when I walked in and was seated quickly. My waitress was... super friendly and knew the menu well. I ordered a burger and fries. The biscuits and apple butter were insanely good! Thequality and portions of the burger and fries exceeded my expectations. Prices were on par with what I got. The Country Benny is so good! I'm a huge fan of the Benedict and it's spawn, and this is a fun one. Fantastic fluffy biscuits.... The only disappointment was the hash brown casserole. Many people really,really love this, so please remember this is only oneopinion. It brought back a school cafeteria vibe for me. I wish I'd had the grits. Read more
I have wanted to go here for YEARS but had an horrible experience there about 10 years ago that made me never want to step foot... inside again. I decided to give it a final shot today, and I'm SO beyond glad I did!! Even though you could tell the staff wasoverworked, the waitress we had was absolutely wonderful!! The portion sizes are insane!! (In a GREAT way!) The biscuits, meltin your mouth cornbread and delicious apple butter was just the icing on the cake!! Tried the meatloaf and Mac and Cheese andwas blown away at how delicious it was!! We also got the country fried chicken with white peppered gravy and couldn't say enoughabout how great it was! Meatloaf was good, not hot. My fried chicken was the only hot food served. Stewed apples and pinto beans, not hot. Husband's... mashed potatoes, not hot, he wouldn't eat. Biscuits and cornbread not even hot enough to melt room temperature butter (pic ofcornbread that I put butter on 20 minutes ago). I had water, husband had tea. Stopped in for lunch with the family, not sure what to expect.... Then there was a 10-15 minute wait for a table. Usually that's... enough to send us somewhere else but we decided to stick it out.
