By far the best steak I've had in a really long time. We're from Houston, but have a house in town. We came all the way down for... my husband's birthday dinner and it was worth the drive. They had our table ready and even though our group was bigger, it was apleasant experience, not a hassle that sometimes can come with being with a big group. Our waitress made it easy, not once didwe have to ask for a refill or much of anything else for that matter. After a half day across Texas, we turned left in Coleman and found a parking spot, across the divided street. We arrived at... 7:25, looked the menu over. Our sweet but busy waitress took our drink order and answered our one question, how big is thechicken fry? Oh, it's kinda big. It's a sharer. We split the best hand breaded chicken fry, 2 salads and 2 sides! The chickenfry was a minimum 10" across, hanging over the sides of the plate! Crispy, just the right seasoning mix with an amazingly properamount of pepper cream gravy. Not so much to drown the cfs, not so little to leave you searching for more. Finally a real restaurant in Coleman with a real menu! A full bar! And not the same old same old restaurant routine Coleman has... had since the 70s? I like it. service is good. Atmosphere is great?. Doesn?t smell like generations chain smoking. Definitely aneeded up date to Commercial! Read more

Best food in the neighborhood. One of the best places to eat in Central Texas. Friendly staff, clean premises, delicious food.... You get what you paid for. This place is personally one of my favorite places to order some steak and loaded potato with acouple drinks along with the Texas-cowboy ambiance and decoration is definitely an experience. Always a plus when a resturant accommodates an allergy. Cattle Drive Cafe is Latex friendly. The staff was super friendly, food... was hot, and portions were filling. They even had live music on the Friday night we visited. The atmosphere was family friendly.We were seated and served in no time. We ordered the steak sandwich and it was so yummy. Basically love this place! We camped down the road for a week and was here almost every day. So glad we found it. Just can't say... enough! Love the food, love the staff. Great prices. We were in Coleman for an event and found this place to eat. Little did we know it was gonna be amazing. Greeted the second we... walked in! There were 2 waitresses on the floor with a full house and they were awesome. Very attentive. All of our food wasgreat! Never had a empty glass.
