A decent place for a meal. The price is reasonable. The service is pleasant though it can be a bit slow. The dinner items are... well prepared but mostly pretty bland. Their pizza is actually quite good, most of the time, but that is the catch. For me theproblem with Illiano's of Colchester is inconsistency. When they are doing well, the meals are a bit better than average andthe pizza is excellent! Other times it can be below par. Consistency is one of my main criteria for rating restaurants. If Iam not sure what I am going to get when I place an order, how can I recommend it? For example, McDonald's is hardly gourmet oreven very fast food BUT, when I place an order at McDonalds 99% of the time I get what I expect. On a bad day this place barelyrates 2 stars yet on a good day it easy rates 4 stars based the pizza and other related bready baked items. So I give them 3stars but take it with a few grains of salt. Cheeseburger grinder was bland, not well put together, zucchini fries were ok, from frozen. Marinara sauce was straight out of... the can. Tasted like can. This place used to be good. No love for the food. Another victim of the pandemic I guess. Read more

Ordered one thing, a hot ham grinder on a seeded roll at 12:20 They stated 20 min. Got there 35 min later and recd cold ham... grinder with no seeds! For $11 get it right! Read more

Unfortunately, it's one issue or another each time. Try to give this place chances for redemption, but this time it was under... cooked, doughy, lacking sauce to the edge. Just a sloppy pick-up pizza. Read more

Came here after a long hike which should say something about how our expectations weren't too high given we were starving. The... mozzarella sticks definitely had that frozen quality and weren't fried enough. I give it a 5/10 because the flavor was stilldecent. The chicken parm was lackluster. I thought the sauce was very good. 7/10 The pasta was cooked fine but lacked a lot offlavor even with the sauce. The chicken reminded me of cafeteria food. Cheese wasn't melted enough, it was hard and rubber like.I also found a thick piece of plastic halfway through. 3/10 The woman who served us was very nice about it and apologized. Shewas very prompt and lovely. Overall, it was not very good compared to other Italian places I have been and I won't be back evenif I were starving. Read more

Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices but there was hardly any veal on the veal parm. Either get smaller rolls or put on more... meat. The roll was super crusty and yummy but it was a WHOLE lot of dry bread. I've been to another location and only ever hadpizza which was really good. I think I'll skip the grinder if I go back. Driving thru Colchester.. Stumbled upon this great restaurant. Google reviews were good decided to try.. No regrets!!! Yummy... food.. Great service!! Had a meatball grinder and chicken cutlet grinder. And mozz sticks... Very good. Wish I lived closer!!!Excellent!! Read more
