Very cozy and interesting bed and breakfast type hotel, restaurant and a great place to host weddings. The barn is large enough... to host parties of 100+ guests. Best. wedding. venue. ever. Our wedding day was seamless. From getting ready, to herding our guests, to dinner and beyond -... they were extremely thorough without missing a step. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the food is amazing. Our guests wereaccommodated with early check ins and champagne upon check-in. The event management is top notch, and the wedding planners arewith you every step of the way. I would repeat my wedding here over and over if I could! Read more
If you want to set yourself amidst a historic site for a while then the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge fits the bill. With roots... starting before the American revolution, this historic Inn offers any adventurer the ability to sit in its lobby, aside ablazing fire in the fireplace, and imagine any of the many historical figures that have previously visited walking through thedoor. And that?s the point of staying at a place like this, not the modern amenities that some of you out there may beaccustomed to. Upon arriving, we were met by Sydney, the Rooms Manager who greeted us with a smile, booked us in and gave usperfect directions to room number 310.. The room itself featured a king size bed, a large bath with a tub and two showers, afireplace and a closet to hang belongings. The room was also adorned with historical paintings, pictures and furniture alongwith period wallpaper and lighting fixtures. This room had a very pleasant atmosphere but please know there were someimprovements that would have made the stay a bit more pleasurable. First the mattress in this room may be as old as the Innitself. In fact it may be the worst mattress I?ve encountered in my life of travel, as it literally felt like you would roll offit if you weren;t strapped to the bed posts in some fashion or manner. We only were staying for two nights, so to make the bestof it I shoved two bathrobes they had hanging in the closet and a spare pillow under the mattress so I wouldn't? roll off alongwith having my feet about a foot over my head. Even still, the first call I made when I got home was to my chiropractor. Theother thing you should be aware of is that climate control in this room is nonfunctional. When activated, whether it be the ACor the heat, there is a loud roar that emanates from the vent over the bathroom door, that sounds like a jet is readying fortakeoff in the hallway. And no matter where you set the thermostat, the room temperature stayed at 78 degrees. Read more
