Had a good experience service wise. Really nice, albeit edgy, atmosphere, solid service, and good sushi. I have to say: 10 bucks... for 5 delicious chicken wings with a tasty sauce may be the best deal in town. Minor things like getting the appetizer prior toyour entree makes me want to send it back, especially at the cost of the plates. I was hoping this place could be a Tonkatsujoint for me but alas it was criminally dry pork. Delicious sauce though, couldn't stop eating it. I really am looking for aplace to explore higher-end Japanese cuisine, but if they are missing the mark on an $18 dish, I'm not going to have theconfidence to throw down $40 for the duck. Sushi rolls were good. I'm no sushi expert but it was a real heavy on the mayo withthe rolls we had. I like to taste that rice and seafood. It's okay. Miss the old Takara. Read more

Great menu with FRESH and original items. Real crab meat and fish is flown in fresh. Owner is Japanese. Incredibly friendly and... helpful service! Food was soooo good. 10% off for open carry, first responders and Veterans and because of this they have atarget on them from the woke mob which you will see in some of the fraudulent reviews. Walked into Takara Japanese, first thing I noticed was the ambiance. Busy, Happening atmosphere. Service was a bit slow. Dinner... was tasty ???? Only issue we had.. We ordered Maguro Sashimi, our waiter served us another kind of fish, without checking withus. We refused the order & sent it back. We probably was there on an Off night.
