Met friends here over the weekend. This was our first time and I must say. We weren?t disappointed. The food was delicious and... our server was friendly and very efficient. I had the bangers and mash. My wife had the short ribs. Both were fantastic. Theyhave a great beer selection and the desserts are very tasty. It?s a little out of the way, but worth it. Read more

The best Guinness in lower Pennsylvania is poured here. Good pub food is served and when the rush picks up this smaller... restaurant gets full & lively. A great place to watch rugby, football, etc. One thing I will say is do not ask for a side oftoast with breakfast! They will look at you like you just asked for their social security number. This is a must go restaurant. I stumbled upon this looking for restaurants because we were stopping by the Dansko outlet. We... were pleased with everything. The atmosphere is warm, and a little loud so pretty family friendly. Parking can be challenging, but they have free valet for busier times. Have the sticky pudding. It is a must!! Read more

New Year, new journeys to find extraordinary eats! OK, so, discovered this place all thanks to watching Guy Fieri last night on... TV where he was visiting an English pub in DE and reading what one reviewer wrote that she was heading back to the BEST PUB, theWhip Tavern, in Coatesville, PA. Beautiful sunny Sunday to take a 97 mile country drive to see what Chef Tim?s specials were anddiscover this olde world English pub. The country charm of cozy interior was super inviting and welcoming. Almost immediately, ayoung man showed us to a back wall table and then CHERYL, our server, showed up with a huge smile, full of good energy, sheprovided us great, efficient service from beer to dessert. As we often do, we ordered a few dishes: the Shrimp & Grits (100%better than Hyman?s in Charleston) where the sauce was the gold, perfectly cooked fresh shrimp, yummy grits (a tad too salty butthen I HATE salt!) The tender braised short ribs, mashed potatoes and collards with sautéed onions, ALL prepared well. Thefried COD portion was breaded and fried to perfect golden crunchy crispness, with ?CHIPS? (wide steak fries) and a side order ofsmashed peas in a ramekin. Since the beef tenderloin SPECIAL was not ready until 4pm, we ordered it takeout along with the FARMBURGER. These Monday treats were equally superb. It delights me to know that owner spends time in their own establishments andinteract while working alongside the staff. And this whole dining experience made me happy with each dish, the presentation, ingredients and taste. Oh, and that warm sphere of MEDJOOL FIGGY PUDDING cake surrounded with Toffee sauce was the big splurge.Absolutely delightful and delicious. Can?t wait to return and dine creek side! ???? Read more

Would have been 5 stars.... honestly it should be 4.8.... but my onion soup was tasteless. Everything else was perfect! Mushroom... soup, amazing. Duck, hearty and perfect. Steak, the compound butter was pure money, and the desserts blew us away. Read more

First ate here 2 years ago while visiting from Oregon & really enjoyed my experience. Went back tonight and the Whip exceeded my... memories and expectations. I thought my meal two years ago was good, but tonight was exceptional. Our order: ? Welsh rarebit ?Scotch Egg ? Sheppard?s pie ? Banger?s & mash ? Sticky toffee pudding Not one weak moment all evening. Every dish was perfect, and the service was lovely. Thank you, for making my trip extra special! (Apologies for the sloppy photos, we were hungry andexcited!) Pictured: Welsh rarebit, bangers & mash, + bathroom wallpaper that we loved. Read more

I?ve been waiting to go to The Whip for a few years and it did not disappoint. You could drop this place in The Cotswalds and it... would be a success. The menu was impressive and I was tempted but I came for the fish and chips with mushy peas. The best in thestates!! Can?t wait to return and try the rest of the menu. Oh and the Sticky Toffee Pudding!!! Read more
