Reviews for Cocina Mexicana El Milagro in Cloverdale, CA
I had the unfortunate experience of ending up here unplanned for Sunday "brunch" after Trading Post turned us away without a... reservation. When we walked in we were directed to the buffet. It was our mistake to not ask for the price or if other optionswere available. The only breakfast items were very dry chewy scrambled eggs, OK bacon and pancakes I didn't try. All the restwas cafeteria looking Mexican food and various dishes that looked like heated up frozen dinners. Salad and dessert were barelyedible. This would all be fine if the meal was $14.99. But this restaurant is doing what I've seen a lot of lately - not beingtransparent on pricing and then wanting to charge without bringing a bill first. The cashier almost took my friend's credit cardto charge the entire bill when she just had it out ready for when the bill came. After I asked, we found out the price was $28per person for just the food! Later online searches also did not reveal the price and actually revealed that we were not toldabout the bottomless mimosas we should have had. We drank about a third of what we would have had we known additional drinkswere included. Also Bloody Mary's ordered were barely drinkable and too spicy. Based on the reaction of the staff when Iinquired about pricing and whether it was correct, I believe they know what they are doing by not being transparent. No reasonto ever return to this restaurant. Read more
We?ve eaten at El Milagro two times now, and both times the food was excellent. The first time I had three tacos, each with a... different kind of meat. The second time I tried the nachos with carnitas (pictured). Each meal tasted very fresh and wasn?tgreasy like nachos can be at times. We also had the guacamole appetizer to go along with the chips and salsa, as well as acouple of the house margaritas. The prices fall in the $15-$25 range depending on what you order. The service is excellent hereas well. The waiters and waitresses are fast and very friendly, taking the time to check in and even chat with ourchildren. There is parking both along the street and in their parking lot located to the north of the restaurant. They offerboth interior and exterior seating which is covered. The exterior seating also runs along with the street which in turn offers anice breeze. We will definitely be stopping here again the next time we pass through. Read more
