Don't let the exterior fool you. The food is delicious! This is your typical dive with really excellent food and great prices... and good service. The rippers are world renowned. Make sure you ask the bartender about the pictures of the two sisters. Read more

Visited with my friends. My friends found out that they have really good hot dogs. We seat on the bar table and ordered food.... The food served really quick and the price was very low. It doesn?t mean that the quality if the food is low. It tasted reallygood. Typical old fashioned hot dogs and burgers. It was amazing that they kept the price low with good foods! Definitely willvisit again!:) Read more

Came here for the first time and can't beat the value. Ordered a plain hot dog and potato salad and enjoyed both. Next time I... can't wait to try something else. Read more

The ripper lived up to its title as one of the best hot dogs in the area. The homemade relish was a nice topping for the first... time trying the hot dog. The sides were as expected for a lunch spot like this, fries and onion rings were fried and served hotand crispy. Overall, they offer a pretty extensive menu for food and drinks, including beer! As most folks note, it is cashonly. Read more

The hot dogs are called rippers and are friggin magical. Never had a better one. There's mustard and relish in metal containers... on the counter. We additionally ordered onions and sauerkraut for the dogs. It was all excellent. We also got disco fries thatwere excellent. If you ask me what NJ food is this counter is one of a few places I would take for you to understand. And if youdidn't like it I'd kick you out of the state back to where you came from. Read more

Finally tried Rutt's Hut after years of it sitting on my NJ bookmarks list. I had the Ripper and the Bacon Cheeseburger and... added lettuce and tomatoes (+.70) and fried onions (+.40). The Ripper was really good. It had a really nice snap to it. Therelish (?) that you add on yourself was also a nice touch. The burger was great as well, especially with the fried onions. Thefried onions come in this tomato-ey sauce that just went well with the burger. I think next time, I would just do a regularcheeseburger and add fried onions. I was kind of full after these two. I feel like I could have eaten another hot dog or anothercheeseburger (especially since we didn't get any fries) but I also feel like that would have put me over the top, so it'sprobably better that I didn't. Tip - you can't order ahead but it's quick- at least it was on a Sunday at around 12:30 PM.There's also a bar/sit down area or the quick pick-up area, which is where we went. Cash only! Read more

What a great commendation! We drove 30 mins to come here and it did not disappoint! The Rippers (Hotdogs) have a good first... crunch when you first bite into it and it's so simple. Nothing crazy fancy. You have mustard and a housemade relish in tin bowlson the counter. If they were 30 mins away, I'd get more hotdogs lol. Everything else we got was pretty good too. I enjoy thatit's simple and not crazy fancy. Simple is better! Read more
