Reviews for Rudy's in Cliffside Park, NJ
I love the mom and pop vibe. But the food was flavorless. And when asked for butter for my bread, I was told “we don’t have... any”. Not to forget you have to ask for water to be refilled. Read more
Rudy's is a staple in Clifside Park, customer for the past 30 years, never disappointed. Fried calamari and garlic bread,... customer service always friendly. Love the place. Highly recommend it. Read more
Been trying to find better fried calamari for 40 years and can't. 4 and 5 star NYC restaurants can't compare. And cold beer... too! Read more
I love Rudy's. First off their food is amazing. The chef couldn't be any better. Every chance I get to go out to eat that's my... place to go. I know you can order and take your food home, but I love the workers there. Rose who is a server is the absolutebest! She takes care of everyone and is so friendly. The seafood which is my favorite is what I always get it is amazing there. The dining room which is a little small but it makes it seem more intimate and relaxing. The bar area is always packed whichtells you that so many people enjoy being there. If you like seafood I'd recommend the shrimp scampi it is phenomenal. Theprices are very reasonable and the portion of food you get is so much I can never finish all of it lol. I always bring food homewith me. If you've never tried this place I'd absolutely recommend stopping in for dinner. It's a great place!! Read more

2021: We still love this place, but BEWARE OF THE HOUSE SPECIALS!!! THESE DO _NOT_ COME WITH SIDES. This means the $19 for 4... fried shrimp and 4 fried scallops on a naked plate just sees WRONG. 2018: We've been coming to Rudy's for the last 30 years. This is a great local bar and wonderful Italian restaurant. The patrons and staff are always friendly, and I've never had a badmeal here. Be careful the spicy hot marinara sauce is really spicy and hot: we love it! Read more
Long established neighborhood Italian seafood cafe and bar. Totally separate from the bar, the dining room is small, and kind of... old fashioned cozy. A good romaine house salad and a nice warm crusty bread loaf, was followed by their Scarpariello dish(chicken,? sausage, peppers, onions & mushrooms with linguine) for me and the Chicken Parmigiano for my partner. Both maincourses were generous and flavorful. The service was friendly and quick. The drop in my star rating was due to not havingSangria available nor butter for the bread. Else I would have given 4 stars. Metered street parking. Read more
Nice environment. But the food had little to no flavor, specifically the veal and penne. The sauce was runny with more water... than tomato. The calamari was too rubbery/chewy. I’m hoping its a one time issue but I’m not sure I’ll return. Read more
