City Pop Sushi over delivered on customer service and sushi freshness! ???? Walked in and was immediately greeted by the kitchen... king who took my order, made suggestions, etc. Super friendly staff, incredibly fresh sushi (my rolls had salmon and shrimp) anda super clean space with just enough art from local vendors to grab your eye, but not distract you from the amazing meal you'reabout to consume. Came here to grab a bubble tea before a show in the area. The gentleman who was running the place was extremely friendly and... took care of us. Atmosphere and general vibe is super chill. Sushi is great, staff is extra friendly and very willing to help out understanding... the menu options. Nerd friendly if you're looking for that and the regulars definitely fit in that category, which isn't a badthing. They have multiple works of art on display when you enter on the right wall THAT ARE FOR SALE in case you're looking tohelp any local artists they might have on display. This is in addition to the awesome mural they have on the rest of the mainwalls. Available as well are Gunpla kits (Buildable Gundam models) and some Magic the Gathering cards for sale. Cool place, nice concept. But sushi is a high standard. The most important ingredient of any sushi is the rice. With everything... I had, the rice was a bit mushy & had no flavor. (salt? vinegar?) Learn some basic rolls, maybe add some shrimp tempura? Misosoup is a must. (Easy to make in 5 minutes!) Today there was no unagi, no salmon, only tuna & shrimp. The owner was super nice &friendly. This place is such an awesome find ! Great deals on raw AND cooked sushi ; it was wrapped takkamaki style_ had a great variety... of choices ???? and homemade recipes of sauces were Yum Yum YUMMY! ? Local artists have work that adorns the walls, some forsale: comic book inspired. Pretty cool, you can get lunch or dinner "in the city" for $10 ! Read more
Absolutely could not recommend this place more! The owners are super nice and really get to know their regular customers. The... vibe in the restaurant is super nice and makes for a great afternoon chill. I also love the decor and wall art.
