This place is great , unfortunately this was my first time here , and I grew up just 30 blocks down St Clair. This is an old... school diner right at East 13 th just one block North of St Clair . When you enter has that old school vibe you order at counterthen take your number and set it on the table of your choice . This Deli has a full bar with all your favorite liquor. They docatering here , and to go orders as well as dine in. I had the jumbo corned beef and fresh cut fries dam it was all good . Oneof the Highlights of this Deli is all their fountain sodas are made with fresh sugar cane . Wow !!!! I had the black cherry soda, and I tried the lemon Lime free refills self serve soda fountain. Super clean, fast and friendly service. I asked for ketchup and mustard however, the meal was so good I didn?t even think of... ruining it with those condiments. The soda is a craft style locally made in this area only and it is amazing!! WOW!!! Voted one of the Top 10 diners in the state of Ohio. Let me tell you why I think this is so. Hospitality. Friendliness.... Delicious Food. and so much more. I was in Cleveland for a conference and when it came time to leave, my car was kaput. The shopwhere my car ended up for repairs recommended Barrister's Deli as a place for me to get something to eat while I waited. Well,technically they were closed when I arrived yet Mary and Nick took me in and took all my cares away. Mary let me sit while theywere prepping to open. She offered to make me a breakfast sandwich and then offered me the menu. So much deliciousness to choosefrom. I chose one of the best salads I've ever had. No canned chick peas here, Nick soaks them! Delicious! I wanted to taste allthe goodness. I ordered a turkey sandwich for the road along with homemade cole slaw and a brownie and chocolate chip cookies.What joy when I found a wrapped pickle at the bottom of the bag. Everything was delicious. I only wish I'd found them earlier inmy trip. By the time I left, I was taking photos with my new found family. If ever I am in Cleveland again, I am definitelystopping at Barrister's for as many meals as possible as long as Nick and Mary are there. Do yourself a favor and get there assoon as you can. Known to be the 2nd best place in Charlotte, NC to eat a warm pastrami/roast beef sandwich.. Cozy old fashion family eat-in... restaurant /pub serving some of the finest, "traditionally home made" RB & Pastrami (No processed or chopped pieceshere????). ????Staff are pleasantly welcoming, while sharing some of the historical facts about the Barrister. Traveling through Cleveland and stumbled upon this gem. As you can see by the photo, they pile the meat high on their... sandwiches. Owner is super friendly and the food is amazing. Highly recommend their turkey club croissant and pasta salad. Eventhe iced tea is good! Definitely worth the stop for a great sandwich, lunch or dinner. Read more
