Last Friday, we choose Goombas to celebrate our friend's Bday. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! The service was... superb. Our waitress was on point at all times, very attentive. We moved to Central Florida from New York 10 years ago. All this time we have been searching for an authentic NY style Italian... restaurant. If you feel the same or just LOVE Italian food, look no further! Goombas will be your new home for authentic Italianfood that is absolutely delicious! The Calzones are fantastic. The Garlic Bread is fresh, buttery, garlicky deliciousness. Thepizza has fresh toppins and the best mozzarella this side of Little Italy! We met Frank, the owner, and he makes you feel likefamily. He told me the secret is in only using the most fresh and quality ingredients. Well, he must be right because you canget a taste of old world Italy right here in Central Florida. The restaurant is quaint and the moment you walk in, you know youaren't in just another cookie-cutter chain restaurant. The entire staff is courteous and attentive. We even chatted with somenice people from Texas and Wisconsin who had been there several times. "I want to try everything, but I haven't gotten past theCalzones! I order them every time!" So great to find a TRUE Italian restaurant that is not only family friendly, but also quite reasonably priced, with such a wide... and varied menu offering numerous daily specials. There were 6 in our dinner party and we all ordered different delicious items:personal cheese pizza with spinach and a side salad, calzone, a HUGE caprese salad, penne pasta, almond cranberry salad, pastawith meat sauce. The parmesan garlic pull apart rolls and marinara sauce that were delivered to the table before our meal wereexcellent. The 2 for 1 sangria was a nice bonus. Service was prompt, friendly personable and efficient. The daily selection ofcookies shipped in from NY was extensive as well. I purchased a dozen of the mini black and white cookies to take home and couldnot have been more pleased. If you are looking for authentic Italian food (thin crust pizzas), and a menu that will certainlyplease anyone, stop in to Goombas. You will not be disappointed. Read more
The food was absolutely fantastic and lightning quick, even on a Friday night. Had several appetizers, pasta and pizza dishes,... and all were fresh and enjoyable. Service was quick and knowledgeable, and our server made excellent recommendations for ourtable. The menu is overwhelmingly large, with easily in excess of 100 items, but everything we ordered came out excellent.Received apps in under 10 minutes from seating and entrees in about 20. Prices were very reasonable, and we only spent as muchas we did because we tried several appetizers and desserts and took home easily another dinner or two in leftovers. Echoing theconcerns of other reviewers, there were no masks on anybody. Most servers are wearing them, but no one behind the line is, andthe servers all have them down around their chins. Sure, they're doing the bare minimum the CDC requires, but in a food serviceenvironment, you'd like to see more attention paid, especially in a lower vaccination rate state. The second reason for thelost 5th star is the switch this week from Coke products to Pepsi. We overheard the owner telling staff that he did so to save afew dollars per box, and in the current environment I get it, but man, it sucks to have a delicious meal and have towash it downwith saccharine battery acid. At least get Diet Dr. Pepper so you have a neutral option. Read more
We started with on tap beer and chicken wings. There are only 3 beers on tap, but numerous beers in bottles. The chicken wings... were done perfectly, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The house dipping sauce was totally awesome! Thererolls were light and airy, a light taste of garlic and parmesan...yummy! We ordered a pizza with everything on it. The veggieswere cut small and done to slightly crunchy, plenty of meat and crust was just right. Read more
