It was our last day in Florida and the family needed to check out of the Sheraton and get ready for our mid day adventure with... the Calypso Queen. We drove around and waited for the 12:30 departure time. Please be aware of the first Problem on thisadventure, parking is limited next to the harbor so get there early. Do not wait until the last moment since the surroundingParking lots are $25-$30. When you get there WAIT until you're ready to board..why? You will need to pay for Parking ticket butit will only give you 30 minutes. Do not be like me trying to keep paying and holding up the line. Get your ticket, take Parkingticket to the boat and they will give you a four digit code so you can come back and pay for 3 hours. As you walk on board andprepaid, your table will be labeled with your party's name. Be aware there are three levels and you could eat first two levelsand it's universal seating so you might eat with strangers. The servers are friendly and do a good job with customer service.Second FYI, at the end of cruise we left $30 in cash as a tip the cost for five of us $150+. Once you can get in and eat anddrink. The food selection is limited with 4 main dishes, salads and sides. Third FYI, get your food quick because servers willput it up quick which isn't cool. As we traveled the shoreline, we enjoyed other boats, pelicans, dolphins, etc with Caribbeanmusic. If you go to third deck its open and are subject to the sun. Final FYI dont be a dummy like me wear sunscreen all thetime. The sun and water are deceiving beautiful and will get you, hence my current name Lobster Boy. This place was a blast! A little touristy yes, but the food was surprising the good considering it's and all you can eat buffet.... Seriously, it wasn't a five-star restaurant but it was notably pretty damn good for a buffet, and especially on a boat. Thestaff was super nice and helpful, the views are great, even if you don't put a couple drinks in you, you'll have a great time! Read more
We booked this tour a month out and it was amazing. The rum punch was strong and good!! The food was great and they had lots of... options for vegetarians which I am. The food pictured is my friends food and she stated her food tasted great. I didn?t get apic of my food since I was sooo hungry. LOL!!! The pasta salad and potato salad were seasoned very well. The caption of the boatwas too funny when he was doing the tour. He kept us laughing. The staff was amazing and making sure to give us more refills ofdrinks and taking the dirty plates. This was a great part of our vacation. We close the evening run. Buffet, wine, beer, all included. I had no idea that there... would be a DJ and music. If you plan on going on this cruise, make sure you get there early because parking can be a problem. Read more
If you are on a budget and need a couple of hours to get away from it all and just relax this is the local cruise for you. 2... people All you can eat buffet and all you can drink for 50dollars each. 24.95 for the cruise + 24.95 for Food&Drink. Buffet wasgood not great. But you do get Peel&eat shrimp,Beef Terriyaki,Whitefish,Chicken.Salads+Rolls. Dessert is an extra charge($5).All you can drink Beer,Wine,Soda and Rum Punch makes price of buffet well worth it. This is a great time! For 50 bucks you not only get a beautiful boat ride, you get food and beverages included! Took mom for... mother's day and she loved it!! Food was buffet style and offered delicious dishes such as teriyaki steak, pulled pork, mangoglazed chicken and big steamed shrimps. Buffet was open a little over an hour and you could eat as much as you want!! There is acash bar here for mixed drinks and specialty cocktails. Unlimited Beer, wine and rum punch are included with price whichdelighted me greatly! Be sure to leave early as you may get stuck in the crazy Clearwater Beach traffic. It has been three years since we took a Tampa Bay lunch-time boat cruise on The Calypso Queen. And our experience was just as... enjoyable. For $40 a person, not including a tip, my wife and I had a wonderful all-you-can-eat buffet lunch with the "all youcan drink" option. My wife enjoyed several glasses of sweet red wine while I had the Bud Light variety. The service waspersonal and exceptional, better than most upscale restaurants we've been to. The Captain / tour guide gave a well understoodnarrative of our journey about the bay. Only complaint was the hand sanitizer devices were empty. Read more
What an awesome time!!! I cannot express enough how much fun we had. The food is excellent, and plenty to eat. The staff... Christy and Lauren went out of their way to ensure everything and everyone was top notch. They created an atmosphere of comfortwhile attending to everyone to ensure they had a great time.
