801 Fish is a showcase of the Best of St Louis. We had Sea Bass flown in within 36 hours (great meal btw), one of the best list... of whiskies in the city and views were just amazing. Can’t wait to get back there! Read more

Excellent food and service. The pairings the chef puts together are wonderful. We had the crab cake, arugula salad (not on... menu), ahi tuna, halibut, creamed spinach, and lobster fried rice. It was all amazing and cooked perfectly. I wish we would havegot a pic as it was also plated beautiful. Read more

Can you expect anything less from a restaurant in downtown Clayton? Came here last September to celebrate my wedding anniversary... and to have dinner with my friend who was in town singing with The Rolling Stones. Decor was gorgeous and we had a nice boothwith a view outside. I had the Lobster Tail Risotto which was heavenly-just wish portions were bigger. Great meal and staff! Read more

Disappointed in our experience @ 801 Fish. Beautiful decor, my wife and I were seated in a nice, comfortable booth. Service was... very friendly and professional, albeit a little slow. Drinks were good. The wedge salad was uninspiring but at least fresh. Crabcake was tasty, but $22 for a single crab cake? I was interested in the scallops and they had a scallops with mushroom risottooption on the prix fixe menu. While the scallops were cooked perfectly, the risotto was salty and gluey; we do it better athome. Once again, the presentation of the main course was uninteresting and bland. The flourless chocolate tort tasted dark, needed more sweetness. That coming from a big dark chocolate fan. But as disappointing as the meal turned out to be, the fruitflies that were our constant companions throughout the evening really detracted from the experience. Complaining to ourwaitperson was greeted with a comment that management really must do something about that. It was a disappointing experiencefor our anniversary dinner. I don’t mind dropping over a couple of hundred bucks on an exceptional meal for the 2 of us, but Iexpect it to be exceptionally good! This one was significantly over $200 and we didn’t even get a bottle of wine. There arefar too many fine dining options around St Louis to choose this one again. Read more

The drinks, the fish, everything was excellent. Very glad I had time to grab dinner here. The cocktail menu was very well... thought out. Update: 1 year later and it's still excellent. Read more

Best dinner I've had in the Clayton area. Cocktails were creative but not overdone, fish was fresh, but don't expect a large... portion. Read more

I've eaten here several times. Everything is magical. They have the best crab cakes...anywhere. The calamari is one of my... favorites. I've had the Chilean Seabass and Ahi Tuna. It's always incredible. Great drinks, desserts, apps...all good. Serviceexceptional. 6 stars isn't available but it should be. Read more

Hands down some of the best seafood I've ever had. The calamari was perfect and the crab gratin was the best dip I've ever... had. I ordered the halibut with horseradish ricotta gnocchi and it might have been the best meal of my life. My girlfriend gotthe swordfish, and while it definitely wasn't as good as my dish, she still did enjoy it. Considering food and drinks were over$400 for our table of 4 I would recommend this place based on how good my meal was, but the sword fish was not worth $45 aplate. I would like to give this place more like 4.5 stars than 4, simply because not every dish justifies the high price tag.Its better than a 4 star spot but at a 5 star restaurant every dish should be phenomenal, and the sword fish failed to deliver.
