Reviews for Joella’s Hot Chicken - Clarksville in Clarksville, IN
I like Joella's, but it can be a bit pricey depending on what you get. The lunch special is a decent deal, but if you order a... regular entree and a drink expect to pay $15 after tip. (They do solicit tips, but it's only partial service. You order at thecounter, seat yourself, and your food is bright to you. You're responsible for your drink and clearing the table.) The chickenis decent, though occasionally a bit in the dry side. The fries are good, shoestring style with a light batter or something. Ireally like the pimento cheese sandwich with hot chicken. The spiked honey sauce is also really good. They used to have theirown brand of sodas but recently switched to coke. The tea is good, comparable to other local chicken restaurants. Overall,Joella's is good. It's a bit more expensive than something like Cane's, but it is a distinctly different experience. I wouldn'tsay it's better, but I do find myself coming back regularly. Their chicken is pretty great but whats even better and unique about this food chain is their pie in a jar. I constantly go here... to strictly buy their pie in jar. I only eat the oreo flavor and its a sort of whipped texture. The building Is very clean andspacious. The lady at the register is not completely friendly, was a bit in a rush for us to order. The food wait time is about5 minutes and it's always correct and fresh. Read more
Friendly staff and great food! After we ordered, they came out to let us know that the wings might take awhile, which was fine... with us. The food was hot and delicious! The kale salad was also amazing! What more could you ask for? ???? Read more
Overall good value. Decent amount of food for the price. Not sure the heat scale is accurate because the Hot didn't have... anything I'd consider heat. Next time it'll be fire in da hole!! Staff was nice and friendly. Overall I'd return since it was agood experience. Read more
*** CHECK YOUR FOOD IF YOU ORDER TOGO*** I placed an order at the Clarksville, IN location and when I got home and looked at it... I was just disgusted. I ordered 2 meals 1 quarter dark + a an additional quarter dark with kale salad and mash potatoes. Theother was the same but with double macaroni and cheese. sides weren't even half filled lol what a joke. The sauce cup is biggerthan my chicken. My leg quarters were literally dried out shriveled up smaller than the piece of bread they came on and theytaste like burnt oil (from the one tiny piece I could get off the chicken). My salad came in a tiny container and it was mushy?!The macaroni is different every time I visit this location. I have never had one issue at the one in Louisville on FrankfortAve. I am not sure what is going on at the Indiana location but I had to throw away my whole meal. ** In response to the ownerI went back and got food again there was about 4 people sitting and eating, only for the chicken to look the same way I tookphotos of it as well. Thanks but I will no longer eat here. Read more
We got 2 different orders, grilled and fried chicken ,was nothing like either of them, more looks like steamed than fried or... grilled. 2 sides of Mac and cheese, one mashed potato and a small salad ( all below average) . the 3 stars are for the quickservice and friendly staff. Read more
Ordered Chicken and waffles which I have always ordered at the Louisville KY location. Chicken didn't have a drop of Ella's Fav... sauce on them. They gave me Bbq sauce sauce for my waffles. The manager could care less of my concerns. I said there was not anysauce on my chicken tender and he insisted there was. I then asked for a side of Ella's Fav sauce and he gave me something thattasted like straight oil. Despite living in Indiana going forward I'm going to only eat at Joella's in Louisville. Read more
Everything on the menu is hand made and tastes great. You can order your chicken in about 8 different hot sauces. The chicken... tenders portions are big and two of them will fill you. There are very few places that have collard greens "cooked down" the oldfashioned way with bacon and that's how they do it at Joella's. This is a good pick! Read more
