???????? I just took my wife out to The Back Abbey the other night and it was great! For starters, the service was on point!... From the host that sat us, all the way through to getting the check. They were attentive, and friendly. I love Belgian beersand I was stoked that they had Delirium. My wife got a margarita and she said it was great as well. The food was super tasty. We got the Back Abbey & Backyard Burgers. They had a ton of flavor and came out quickly. It?s usually super busy, so beprepared to wait or get there early to put your name in! Read more

Lots of greats drinks and food! They have German and Belgian imported beers, my friends think it's worth the drive from LA to... get them. The duck fat fries are really amazing, the dipping sauces are on another level, so good. Service was awesome. Theservers were very kind and food/drinks came out very quick. Read more

Fun little spot to visit outside of the core Claremont Village. As you'd expect, there is a great selection of Belgian beers,... both on tap and in bottles. The food choices are pretty decent. We were pleased to find mussels. The sauce was delicious; itwould have been great to have more bread to soak up the deliciousness. I'd add a star if they could provide better descriptionsof the brews (the servers weren't too helpful and seemed overwhelmed) and carried some lower ABV choices. All said, we would goback to hang out in this back alley patio. Read more

This is still my favorite pub. I love that they have the correct glassware for each beer, usually labeled with the brewery and... beer name. I'm not normally the type to care, but it does make a difference in the aroma and head of the beer. Particularlywith the delicate euro beers the specialize in. It's a little detail, but it elevates the experience. The draft beer selectiondoes (slowly) change over time. But there's always something interesting to try. This is a great place to sit and relax whilethe kids take an art class at the nearby Studio Clairemont. I have fond memories of playing cards with my family (with someduck fat fries and a charcuterie board) while a kid was in class. I like the redesigned patio. It's not as comfortable andhomey as before, but the new sun shade is a welcome addition. The menu is a bit more expensive than I remember, but that to beexpected during pandemic recovery. Read more

I have been at this restaurant once! It was in the beginning of December, 2021. The meal, that I have ordered was quite... delicious. Furthermore, at the time, for a Friday evening, there was ample of space to sit down. They have, also, a goodselection of beers. At the same time, they hired good bartenders. These bartenders are capable of making good cocktails. Ofcourse, since the service is of top notch quality, the prices are on the expensive side. Nevertheless, I did not regret visitingthis establishment. I will definitely visit this place again, when I have some disposable cash. Read more

First time visiting...tried the BBQ chicken sandwich and side salad...very tasty. The pretzel bun and jalapeño poppers added a... good taste. I need to come back and try other menu items including some tap beer. Would I recommend? Yes Read more

One of my favorites! Been here many times the past few years. This review is overdue. I am Never disappointed when I come.... Although, it can get packed here, it's worth the wait. Excellent place to grab delicious entrees, snacks, brew andspirits. Food here is so delicious, and the selection of drinks is amazing. My favorites are the brats, schnitzels, beignets, and the martini espresso! Their seasonal menus are great too. My S/O loved the hot totty, and the burgers. Read more

Only 4 stars because of the service. Our server was very nice and helpful. Answered all of our questions and gave pretty good... recommendations. I had a whiskey sour and I thought it was incredible. I'm not a whiskey drinker but I really enjoyed theirwhiskey sour. My friend had their Spencer IPA. Which was really good. You can taste the hops but not in a bitter way. As forfood, we ordered the Crab Cakes as an appetizer. They're were really delicious and had a great balance of flavors. My friend hadthey're burger. Which was really good and I had the Steak Frittes (medium rare). My entree wasn't the best it was okay. Theydefinitely overcooked the steak and was very under seasoned. I definitely would not recommend the steak and fries. Read more
