While visiting Cincinnati this restaurant was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. This was by far our favorite place... and experience. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left was delightful. The Maitre D was super personal and genuinelywanted us, and everyone to have a great experience. He chatted with us several times during our stay and was enjoyable. Ourwaitress Jain was a gem. She is warm and fun. She checked on us, but not too much. (We hate when people interrupt ourconversation.) We eventually moved over by the fireplace and she took our drinks over there and continued to serve us there. Wefelt like old friends and asked for a selfie with her before we left. All the food was good but that banana empanada changed mylife! We will definitely visit The Shires’ again. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Read more

The food was good but nothing we had was over the top amazing. The wait staff was good but our particular host was a bit... scatterbrained and didn’t have everything to us timely. The view is definitely worth a visit. Read more

In town for the Cincinnati Jazz Festival (Janet Jackson). The crab cakes and French toast was amazing. The cranberry mimosa was... awesome. They missed the mark with the shrimp and grits. Needed some seasoning. No flavor at all. Best view of Cincinnati Read more

View is lovely, outdoor patio is great, and the inside is beautifully decorated. I cannot comment on the food but the drinks... were lovely! Our bartender was kind and attentive, with the right balance of making a few jokes here and there with us andletting us enjoy some privacy. Would come again! Great for a date night or special occasion. Read more

This restaurant is GREAT! Took my daughter there with our family for graduation over the weekend and our server Rob was... fantastic. He went above and beyond to create a real experience for us and we loved it. The food was great as well, and theburger was hands down the best. We all got different dishes from the scallops to the salmon to the salads, but the burger wasprobably the best burger I've had, so much so that I wanted to return the next day. Don't miss this experience. The onlydownside is no valet parking and street parking was the pits...there were several large events over the weekend and all garagesand lots were full. Hopefully parking will be easier the next time I visit. Read more

The View is a neat place - kind of a hidden gem, given there's no street signage that I saw. We had dinner in a rooftop "igloo"... (actually a greenhouse) on a fairly cold Feb. 26. The temps in our four-person unit were bearable - but not exactly warm -despite the small electric heater inside. When the server opens the door, cold air comes in - but that's to be expected, andpart of the "fun", right? Service was a bit on the slow side, which I also expected after walking in (it was fairly busy). Allthe staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, and there was a good overall "vibe". Based on our meals, I would saythe food is good, not great. My Wagyu Burger was ordered medium rare, but served well done (it was really nothing special). Theshort ribs got decent reviews from the two who ordered them. The desserts were good (we moved in to the bar for this due tobeing cold in the igloo). They ran out of Stella on tap. All in all, The View is a cool place to hang out and drink, but thefood has a ways to go to be any kind of Cincinnati dining destination. Read more

I chose to celebrate my 25th birthday here with 8 of my closest friends and family. 4 of us showed up about 5-10min before the... reservation time and were seated in our igloo that was already being warmed up by the fire. The entire igloo set up was verycomfortable between the cushioned sofa and the little “windows” in the igloo you could open if it got too toasty. Thescenery was also very nice on the rooftop. My party trickled in at different times because of outside circumstances but ourwaiter, Alex, was VERY patient and welcoming. He checked on us in a timely manner and ordered our drinks and food right on time. The brunch was very delicious and so were the drinks. Alex was even kind enough to sing me happy birthday after he found outwhat we were celebrating. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and were talking about returning in the future. I am glad I choseto celebrate at this place and I will highly recommend it going forward. Read more
