The food is usually great, but they've been slipping lately. They stopped working with food delivery services but claim they... still allow you to order ahead of time online but that service just says "menu not available". So I tried to call in an orderfor pickup, and they said they're too busy to take any orders, I'll have to come wait in line to order in person. I tried that,20 minute wait in line, 35 minute wait for my order to get called, and they're missing both milkshakes. We let them know theshakes are missing, they tell us they'll make them right away. I wait another 15 minutes and still nothing. Go back up to thecounter, wait for my turn to speak to staff, and again, get told they'll make the shakes right away. We finish our food andstill no milkshakes. We go back up to the counter, and in a friendly tone we tell them "this is the third time we've had to askabout our shakes, would it be easier for you guys to just refund us so we can leave?" and the employee rolls his eyes and rudelytells me "if you want your money back, you have to get back in line and talk to the cashier". The line was even longer than whenwe first arrived and we had been there for almost 2 hours at that point so we just left and let them keep the money for theshakes we never received. Been to the Cicero location Modern Malt for both breakfast and lunch now. Its my new favorite restaurant!!!!The food is high... quality, the ingredients are fresh, the food is presented beautifully, the menu is creative, and the staff are friendly. I hadthe lemon curd pancakes and that was the best breakfast I've ever had!!!!!! For lunch, I got a turkey bacon toasted sandwich andit was done to perfection! The roasted turkey was so yummy & cut to the perfect thickness. I love the sweet potato tots. I dumpsalt on them b/c they are super lightly salted. This place is HANDS DOWN thee BEST place to eat right now!!! Side note: If youhave kids, they have amazing options for them, like Fruity Pebble French Toast & I saw they host a kids day (I think Wed.'s),where they eat super cheap! Read more
Experience was alright. My classic burger had no sauce at all (that I could taste) and my table?s ketchup was nearly empty.... Service took a while but our server was friendly. S?mores shake with liquor was amazing though!! Read more
Food was ok, fun menu, good spot to bring kids. We had the lemon curd pancakes and pigs Benedict. For the pancakes curd was... sweet, not tart which was a little disappointing, and the pancakes were just ok. The blackberry compote however was delicious.For the Benedict-it was tasty, but too much pork (if that's possible!). Will definitely come back with the children--its abright, clean space, mostly booths for seating, and then menu will definitely be a hit with the little one. Expected more from a $70 meal for 3. Burger was very dry. It was supposed to have onion straws and chipotle aioli on top. It had... 4 burnt pieces of onion and no aioli. The patty melt was also dry. The sauce was missing completely. Finally the chicken andwaffles... The waffles were burnt. The chicken was general tso, but only tasted of ginger. Read more
The customer service and efficiency of this restaurant is so trash, we sat at the door for a hour while we watched 4 tables sit... there dirty, and it took 4 waiters to clean one table at a time. Teach efficient (as a waiter) because this is ridiculous.Everyone who walked in after us, got a set and filled in tables that should of been prioritize. Good food doesn?t count if theservice is not it . We have 2 people in line ahead of us and there?s 6 tables clean . Read more
This is just a review of the milkshakes not the food from the Cicero location. I ordered two milkshakes for pick up. The service... was quick and smooth. However, the shakes were some of the worst my wife and I have ever had. They weren't necessarily badtasting but they just lacked flavor entirely. You could detect hints of good flavor but it was very fleeting. I honestly wouldhave preferred a milkshake from McDonald's or some other fast food place. I'm wondering if they were just not made correctly orif this is how the recipe is supposed to taste. I'm not trying to be rude but just wanted to give my honest opinion. I've eatenat the downtown location multiple times and have always had good experiences. Read more
